Due to the nature of exponential technology development, AI will develop outside the context of human time. Parallelized agents and self learning systems generating their own training material will allow centuries to occur in months.
Humans have a hard time understanding exponentials even with simple constructs like grains of rice on the chessboard, so how will we adapt our thinking and expectations when exponentials start warping our frameworks for time itself.
We are throttled by biological systems with a limited capability to adapt and the next iteration of intelligence is not. AI is the true digital native and it has a future-forward time machine.
