@mohamedfiraq Arrived yesterday evening to a huge taxi queue from Gate 3 almost to Gate 2. Couldn't get a ride on @Avas_App, but got one from @MTCCPlc's Male Taxi Line for MVR 80. Avas was showing MVR 140 with extra luggage. We all know how much the people at the taxi queue will ask for.

🚨Breaking News

Felivaru Tuna Factory is now facing a serious cooking oil shortage and tuna production is already shutting down.

I’ve just received confirmation that Felivaru Tuna Factory has STOPPED operations.

Because they do NOT have cooking oil to produce tuna cans.

“Production cannot continue. We don’t have enough cooking oil. We don’t know when it will restart.”

Notes:
🔹 Tuna cans are now being filled using 2–3 mixed cooking oils with a visible reddish color change
🔹 Price already increased by MVR 50 per case today
🔹 More increases expected to be significantly higher

🔹 Fasmeeru has started rationing
→ 1 case per person

🔹 Insiders warn that once current stock is over, production may completely stop

They're trying to get votes from Hiya owners, but they've lost the votes of people renting those places.

Hiya Flat residents have been given a MVR5300/month discount for the next 25 months, meaning residents with no outstanding payments will pay not pay rent. Residents will still have to pay MVR1000 maintenance fee. The move comes just days ahead of the upcoming LCE2026 elections and referendum.

Speaking to Adhadhu, HDC sources reveal that some senior management opposed the decision as it would incur a massive loss on the company. However, the last minute approval was given on President Muizzu’s orders, with the decision deemed necessary to win Hulhumale for PNC.

The Hiya Flat rent has also been increased to MVR5300, after having reduced the rent to MVR3984 in Dec 2023. The administration has also forgiven fines incurred by Hiya Flat residents.
