No applause for Mayor Mamdani? This compromise wouldn’t have happened without the Mayor’s leadership. He led the push for taxing the wealthy, with no help from you.
This is not the action of the top US bike city per @peopleforbikes, which seems to have made that ranking on press-release numbers rather than the reality on the ground with an incompetent and corrupt administration
Deeply disappointed the Court has ruled that the City may move ahead with its decision to remove the Bedford Ave PBL. As the @NYC_DOT's own report stated, this will make a Vision Zero corridor less safe and expose the City to liability - yes it will and the City is on notice
Brooklyn’s a great place to bike, but I have problems with how @peopleforbikes made this rating. For example, Adams has only built 88 mi of #bikenyc lanes across city, less than half of what’s required in streets plan, and in BK many still don’t connect https://t.co/yDdm2xYHWI
For the first time, Brooklyn, New York, tops our rankings as the best large U.S. city for bicycling! Brooklyn’s growing bike network of protected bike lanes, greenways, and bike boulevards make daily destinations accessible for all. Read more now at https://t.co/oYc63VuCFB
Some bad reporting here IMO:
* NYC residents, the vast majority of readers, are more concerned about NYC’s population, not metro area’s, yet that info’s nowhere in article.
* Bronx and Manhattan precede Queens alphabetically, not in population
Do better @Gothamist@giuliaheyward
I like Democrats who can throw a punch and want to get shit done. That extends far beyond petty ideological differences in the party. I like AOC, Jasmine Crockett, and Bernie Sanders. I like Pete Buttigieg, Gretchen Whitmer, and Pat Ryan. I want to win elections and improve lives—it's that simple.
“Historic streetscape”? Many if not most of the buildings in the photo were built before cars were a thing — and when people rode bikes, too. If you want to keep it historic, replace parking spaces for cars with room for horses.
I don't own a car. But generally cars belong to people whose homes are right there in the neighborhood. If they own those homes or rent them they are paying a lot for the privilege including extremely high property taxes. Cars have up until lately been valued as an essential mode of transportation for a lot of New Yorkers. I realize not for all the anti-car set responding on this issue. So you all love to compare apples and oranges. Public (you do get the meaning of that right?) space has been co-opted by a private corporation for their private profit. Public means belongs to the community not to private actors. Since some of you like to rent these bikes from car share company Lyft, then put them on the busier avenues like 7th Avenue S. or 6th Avenue. Leave the few picturesque and historic streetscapes in NY for public enjoyment where they belong. @nyc_evsa@CycleSafe18@infopobn@GVSHP

Governor Hochul is holding strong and protecting congestion pricing!
Congestion pricing is working: there's fewer cars, less traffic, and faster commutes into the relief zone. We can't turn back now.
At her press conference today, Governor Hochul said: "The cameras are staying on. We are keeping the cameras on." Thank you, Governor, for staying strong and defending congestion pricing against Donald Trump's overreach!
Per story now on NY1 @insidecityhall, @NYCMayor is calling effort to get him to resign the “big lie,” “a modern-day Mein Kampf.”
This is disgusting, made worse by supposed men of God behind him at press conference where he made those remarks.
@GovKathyHochul: HE HAS TO GO.
Want to remove Trump's puppet Mayor from office???
We can vote him out in just over 100 days - but you need to register as a Democrat to be eligible to vote in all important Democratic Primary.
Deadline to change your party affiliation is Friday 02/14.

Trump and Adams cut their backroom deal, and everyday New Yorkers pay the price. Our spineless Mayor sold out his last shred of integrity for a legal favor—but we’re ready to fight back. New York won’t stand for this.
