The Tories have now formally ended shielding. To do so as we approach winter and likely surge in cases is appalling. Clinically vulnerable people need the ongoing right to WFH, furlough if they can’t, and access to food and meds. Declaring shielding is over does not mean it is.

Disabled people shouldn't have to "work through the pain and illnesses", we should be accommodated, allowed to take breaks and take off without fear of losing jobs or freelance gigs.
Yes, and to not be met with privilege defensiveness from the committees, but to actively listen to disabled students (especially multiply marginalised disabled black and brown women) and understand the harm they or the institution has played a part in
We need more advisory commissions and committees where students with disabilities can air their grievances to higher education institutions so they can be made aware of the various inequities and discrimination.
