Yeah it also just doesn't matter - as long as you're living a better life because of whatever you're taking, who cares? Some people are stuck in this analogy-based reasoning instead of just thinking straightforwardly about what's effective. The goal is to have a good life on your terms, however you go about it.

Luckily this is actually a source of alpha in general - there will be magic pills one day that a decent chunk of the population chooses not to take and you can just win by calmly thinking about which will make you better off instead of using analogy-only reasoning.

Re: some recent discourse, we need an educational program to help bleeding hearts survive on the web. Students must complete the following credits:

COM101: Introduction to joke recognition
COM102: Humour in civic debate
IRN215: Multilayer Zoomer irony
ARG236: Effective argumentation beyond rational persuasion
ARG337: Applications in tussling
ARG350: Dunk-proof Xeeting
PER470: Likeability and persona cultivation
IRN490: Concepts in ambiguous subtext steganography

Students wishing to vary course material may waive or substitute up to 1.5 credits with permission from the program director, but COM101 and IRN215 are mandatory for degree completion.

I used to think slowing down was pointless, like slightly delaying a roller coaster. pausing at gpt2 for a year wouldn’t have changed anything. but I’ve been shocked by how much agents has sped up the best interp/alignment researchers I know. +6mo might decide how this goes
