@RukJessica I believe it can be both. Some tiktok’s may be very informative, but of course we cannot have one more than the other. I think it’s also more seen on the misinformational side which can be very disheartening to see, especially since many young impressionable people use it.
Instead of being placed into a mental institution or even being properly cared for while being incarcerated, we have an inmate that dies. This is so disgusting to see! Imagine how many more inmates are being improperly treated. #CrimEdCU
@ea10233@nytimes Yes! It was such a disgusting made by such a powerful figure. Playing it off as an act of “innocent playfulness” does/should not excuse his actions! If the Dalai Lama was just a regular person rather than powerful, I’m sure the story would have unfolded differently. #CrimEdCU
Continuing the conversation that we had in class this week about social media, I don’t think the influence that social media has on people could ever be changed. Social media has become such a staple in our lives that I don’t ever see it going away.
I just wish there could be a way that misinformation was not spread as rapidly. But how could that be without having someone be the “filter” person 24/7. I also wish that people did not take what’s said on SM in face value and did their own research. We’ll see as time progresses.
This is so sad! Why should it have taken multiple officers to tase, pepper spray & beat this man just to neutralize him? The picture included in the article is so hard to see, interested to see how this story will continue to develop and if the cops will be charged. #CrimEdCU
An Indigenous man brutalized by cops, may die.
"Multiple police officers used their stun guns, batons and pepper spray.
Loved ones say Umpherville, 40, has been on life support for days and doctors were concerned about whether he'll pull through."

@malikw1028 This situation was crazy! I work at a grocery store, so when the alert was sent out the store was flooded with people. Everybody was getting 6-8 cases and not caring about anybody else. There definitely should have been better protocols and resources provided. Madness! #CrimEdCU
Mental health and maternal depression has to be taken more seriously to avoid cases like this. The mother could have given her child up for adoption, or to another family member. If she had a better support system, this death could have been avoided. #CrimEdCU
He said VS she said, and people would believe Trump because he is a former president and strong political figure. Interesting to see how this case will develop. #CrimEdCU
This whole situation is very confusing. In the comments, we see a bunch of blame being placed on Ms. Daniels but what about the blame that should be placed on Trump? If the money Trump paid Ms. Daniels was really just blackmail instead of hush money, how would we determine that?
In turn with our conversation last week about voyeurism (not in the sexual sense), I think it’s important to understand what pleasures people get from watching other people’s lives. Such as the Kardashians, there are so shows about their lives. But why are they so fascinating?
@SkyeReinacher You are so right, people do believe that police violence is primarily seen in the US. I think it’s very interesting to see how police violence can be the same or vary im different countries or places.
If police had took her fear more seriously, the victim would still be here today. Because there had been many instances where the ex had assaulted the victim, police should have been more receptive to it. But how can police know when to take threats more seriously than others?
Ax murder victim and single mom of 3 repeatedly warned police about ‘violent’ ex she feared would kill her, lawsuit will allege

@SMorales_CU Yes! A perfect example of victim and mother blaming put into one. How can this have been her fault if she was also the victim? Why wasn’t this placed on the father, and if it was the father instead of the mothers whose fault would it be then?
