@lawcrimenews And what is considered to be “absolutely necessary”? With the overturn of Roe v. Wade, the case Dobbs v. Jackson W.H.O. the landmark decision found that the constitution does not protect the right to an abortion. When rights are taken away, safety is at risk. #CrimEdCU
@lawcrimenews In Alabama,it is currently ILLEGAL to have an abortion. In the Code of Alabama, under section 26-23H-4, abortion is unlawful and can only be performed if deemed absolutely necessary. With that being stated, will we be seeing more cases like this, mother killing her baby? #CrimEdCU
@CNN although “whitewashing” isn’t a policy, it is still a sad reality that black and minority communities face today. we should not live in a world where one race is seen to be more superior over another. #CrimEdCu
@CNN I never knew that “whitewashing” homes to get higher appraisals was a thing until my teacher had mentioned it during our Capstone Class. Within that class we read “The Sum of Us” by Heather McGhee. The book details the racial policies that still exist in America today. #CrimEdCu
@nytimes There is nothing “innocent and playful”about endangering the welfare of a child. Dalai Lama has a position of power over the Tibetan people. People in power should never force this sort of behavior and the people of Tibet should be upset that he acts this way. #CrimEdCu
@BBCWorld The duty of a state representative is to represent the people as well as introduce bills & resolutions. How is that going to happen when the Democrats are EXPELLED every time they try to help the people and create these bills & resolutions that will keep children safe? #CrimEdCu
@BBCWorld It was very upsetting to hear the news that both Jones & Pearson were expelled for protesting and calling on colleagues to pass gun control legislation. They listened to the people, the children chants about the fear of being in schools, and they wanted to protect them. #CrimEdCu
@thephillyvoice@aclupa I’m my CRM315: Criminal Law and Society class we had learned that the Stop-and-Frisk policy is not beneficial and in actuality harmful. Stop-and-Frisk procedure has occurred and impacted minorities in the United States. I believe this procedure is racially motivated. #CrimEdCU
@CNN I believe that this trial will be more publicized in our history due to the status of the person and the status this person held. Misinformation regarding this case will be crucial since the media will be all over the trial and events to follow. #CrimEdCu
@CNN With former US president Donald Trump being on trial and facing criminal charges, would we consider him a celebrity? This week, our MCCJ524 class is talking about celebrities and crimes committed by them. (Part 1) #CrimEdCU
@DavidCoston725 I think it’s like addiction treatment, if you force it to an unwilling person then they won’t respond to it. You have to be willing to receive for it to take affect. I think only if the person who is homeless asks for it should it be provided. We should offer but never force!
@DavidCoston725@BerkheimerAmber Well said David! I too think the firing squad should not be used. It does send the wrong message about gun violence. I don’t believe in the death penalty since I think it is very inhumane. Before college, I believed in it but now being a crim/soc major I feel that it is wrong.
misinformation is spread rapidly across this app, like a wild fire that can’t be extinguished. with this accruing, we leave room for error to flourish in our society. so the real question is this: how do we know which news is reliable?who can we trust to give the truth?
#CrimEdCU
As a class assignment for MCCJ524, True Crime and Misinformation,we participated in a“technofast”.Meaning we went 24-48hours without using social media and/or 1 device. I thought this was going to be easy, but I was completely WRONG.#CrimEdCU
My news typically comes from Tik Tok (I know, so incredibly sad). I had to rely on other news outlets to get my information. When logging back into the app, I realized how not all information on social media is reliable.
@DLSantiago_ there was sexual assault, why does the media never side with the victim but blame them? We should give support and care for all victims who come forward of assault! #CrimEdCU
@DLSantiago_ It seems that political elites are able to act and say one thing about a situation like this and not be ridiculed. When the women comes forward, she is immediately blamed. Why is there an injustice when this happens? Both parties who are involved should share the blame. If ….
@BarackObama many of us have voyeuristic thoughts(non sexual)when this happens:“what a tragedy, but at least it’s not me”.instead of saying“it’s not me”we should be concerned for “when is it going to be me?”We need to take action and ask for a reform on the“gun control”in America #CrimEdCU
@BarackObama America: the only place where innocent children lives are taken at school by men with guns. when is this ever going to stop? We said last school shooting was the end, but here we are again. Another tragedy in a school, a place where children should feel safe but instead murdered.
In the article stated above, it mentioned that having these actors play in these roles can potentially normalize these types of crimes. With that, Hollywood seems to romanticize the “bad boy”, in this case the serial killer. (Part 3) #CrimEdCU

Is it considered unethical to have attractive actors play horrible people who once committed heinous acts? Why does Hollywood seem to glorify these deranged killers? (Part 1 #CrimEdCU)
It seems that true crime obsessions can be promoted by having people like Zac Efron as the lead actor. In class, ethics was mentioned when it comes to these actors.Personally,I think having attractive, well established Hollywood actors playing these roles can cause serious harm(p2)
