BREAKING: Flo Balogun cleared to play vs. Belgium. RBFA appeal denied. US Soccer informed by the RBFA that they will contest Balogun’s eligibility after the game if selected.
“The Royal Belgian Football Association (RBFA) has received the decision of the FIFA Appeal Committee, signed by its member Mr Salman Al-Ansari, which declares the RBFA's case inadmissible and confirms the earlier decision allowing United States player Folarin Balogun to play.
To date, the RBFA has still not received any grounds for this decision, nor has it received the information it has been requesting since the start of this procedure id est a copy of the decision and the motivation declaring the player eligible as well as the referee's report. Which is a breach of FIFA regulations.
“The RBFA has informed the United States Soccer Federation that it contests the eligibility of the player, should the player be listed on the referee's team sheet.
“This leaves all further actions open.”
I was 18. I backed Nigeria each-way to win the World Cup.
My reasoning was solid. Jay-Jay Okocha, 20. Finidi George, 23. Daniel Amokachi, 21. Sunday Oliseh, 19.
I was on long before the Johnny-Come-Latelys.
What I didn't have was any concept of probability. I couldn't even tell you what price I took.
There's a huge difference between looking ready, feeling ready, and being ready.
It took me another thirty years to fully understand the gap between talent and readiness.
The age bell curve I'm running on every 2026 squad traces back to this moment.

The rush to own a house in Nigeria has never been driven strictly by investment logic. Historically, it has been driven by uncertainty, by the fear that once the breadwinner’s income dips, or once he dies, his dependants may be left exposed. That is the context in which Nigerians rush to own property. Those who can afford more even go as far as building houses for rent, because even when it is not the most profitable economic venture, it is the only form of hedging most Nigerians know or trust.
At the heart of this mindset is also the awareness that there is no welfare system strong enough to protect one’s dependants. So breadwinners do what they feel they must do.
This same instinct plays out across the country, even in public service. Officeholders rush to divert public resources entrusted to them in order to acquire property for themselves, aware that the “opportunity” may not return, and that there is no reliable welfare system to cushion them when the income stops. In fact, their families and friends are often the first to remind them of this. In the end, personal financial security is prioritised over public welfare, and this is partly why we are where we are: a country with one of the widest inequality gaps on the planet.
Those who argue against the wisdom of spending one’s savings to build a house are often speaking from a different reality. Some have lived abroad, where the desperation of the struggling class to own property is not always considered a smart move. Others are financially informed enough to know there are better investment options than dumping all one’s money into property while denying oneself a decent life. But Nigeria is a breadwinner’s nightmare. Every day, you live with the fear that your dependants may not be able to afford the next rent if your income, or your existence, stops.
Where I draw the line is in building a mansion that nobody in your family can maintain after you are gone. I have seen this happen in Abuja, where families had to sell a large family house just to buy a smaller, more manageable one to live in.
So, perhaps both sides of the argument can agree on where to draw the line. Owning a house in Nigeria is not a black-and-white matter. It is not always the smartest investment, but it is often the most emotionally and socially understandable one.
A lot of people need to remember that WWE NXT is developmental. Even though it’s on TV and a bigger stage than ever before, what you’re watching is not the finished product of anyone, regardless of age, experience, or skill level.
WWE signs people because they see potential. Getting talent into the system gives them the best opportunity to learn, grow, develop confidence, improve their training, nutrition, psychology, character work, and discover who they truly are as performers.
I wasn’t Ryback until I debuted as Ryback. Life experience, setbacks, growth, and time helped shape everything that eventually connected. Confidence and development happen in stages for many talents.
Pro wrestling has always been special because of the variety of personalities, looks, body types, and characters. That diversity is part of what made wrestling connect with so many people for generations.
Unfortunately today, people online body shame everyone. People get criticized for being overweight, too skinny, too muscular, too shredded, not shredded enough. A lot of the negativity and judgment online is people projecting their own insecurities, fears, frustrations, and unhappiness onto others.
Happiness is a choice. Supporting people trying to improve and chase their dreams will always be a better choice than tearing them down before they’ve even had a real chance to grow.

Oba is a lot of fun to watch. Not every match needs to be long. Pro wrestling is at its best because there are so many different formulas that work.
Monster runs are some of the most fun to witness. Not everybody is capable of pulling them off, and that’s what makes them special. They don’t always last forever, but when they hit, they hit in a way few things in pro wrestling can, and not everyone can play that role.
Really enjoyed Oba vs Otis on Raw. Highly impressive. I’m a big believer in taking chances out there, and Oba is more than strong enough to hit his regular setup on anyone. That said, having multiple ways to get to your finish is always a plus.
Looking forward to more and that’s the last bite. Feed me more!
Strategic partners in an election are not necessarily politicians. If you want to build a real coalition, you must find the millions of Nigerians who stayed away from the last election and address why they lost faith in the process.
That is why the SDP will not join coalitions built only around power or political ambition. You cannot speak about corruption and accountability while aligning with people whose actions contradict those values.
Nigeria needs principled leadership that gives the people a reason to believe in democracy again🇳🇬

@ansem_edet I beg to disagree, he doesn’t have the financial capacity of his competitors, but to say he’s not going all in is quite unfair. That his message doesn’t resonate with the people could be an indictment on the people and not his candidacy. In my opinion.
This is the link to Sowore’s manifesto, which is to be reviewed in due time:

Like and retweet so people can see why we are so confident about him.
@sirmag4real@sowore@Surltz_Da_6_4 Isn’t it the same thing APC did in 2013?
What changed? 😀
You want to do the same thing and expect a different result. Lol.
@the_ceo99@KrypticKareem That you can talk about “elections” “democracy” “voting” in Nigeria today is as a result of his protests…
That new media “online news platforms” operate outside traditional platforms to break daring news is a result of his protests…
@KrypticKareem@josh_olonade@BlehisBack@sowore I tire o
They are demanding answers that are publicly available. Sowore and the AAC have never been clandestine about their plans for the country. These people who demand “answers” for “scrutiny” do not appear to be serious to me! 😀
So where can one read about Sowore? What are his plans? What does he stand for?
As it stands I do not support Tinubu, Neither do I support Peter Obi. Both of them should get out. ❌
I’m okay to waste my support on a smaller candidate🙏🏾….
Please who are the other candidates and where can one read about them?
