New research has found that our brains react more strongly to imagined faces on objects - pareidolia - than gazes from real faces.
This could mean that advertisers use this method to draw our attention in the near future by incorporating face-like arrangements with prominent eye-like elements could significantly increase consumer attention and product recall.

@QRJ211@NeurIPSConf Unfortunately, the speaker didn’t disclose whether it was a Chinese school or not. Your claim from nowhere doesn’t make any sense but clearly racist.
1/3 Today, an anecdote shared by an invited speaker at #NeurIPS2024 left many Chinese scholars, myself included, feeling uncomfortable. As a community, I believe we should take a moment to reflect on why such remarks in public discourse can be offensive and harmful.
Very honored to be awarded this exciting project on accelerating the intersection of AI and neuroscience, huge thanks to the generous support from Accelerate Science and C2D3 funding and our co-applicants @DPsychai@lei_zhang_lz@AlexWoolgar
Our team @RealityLabs has made amazing progress in predicting hand pose from sEMG. Now we're releasing a huge dataset, with code and competitive benchmark models. Excited to see what you can do: https://t.co/MQJUFXZix7

Lab’s latest out at PLOS Comp Biol, led by @carrisa_cocuzza: “Distributed network flows generate localized category selectivity in human visual cortex”. This one changed how I think the brain works! Even "localized" functions are likely generated by distributed processes [1/N]
