@akironsides But that’s it - it’s up to the ref, it’s delegated authority. We trust the refs to make good decisions - in the UK there’s whole associations to further that end. There’s also the fact that time is added on throughout to limit time wasting.

[Dave Pickett @dspickett]

@akironsides No casual fan over here I’ve ever met is confused by it - we understand that the ref has control and the passage of play is allowed to complete. Yes there are moments when it can feel odd but it’s part of the game

[Dave Pickett @dspickett]

@akironsides It’s a much older tradition - casual football still has ‘next goal wins’ and ‘last play’

@ShruggedAslef @NootiNoot02 @TfL Waiting in a pub is the way forward!! 😀

[Dave Pickett @dspickett]

@TfL why are there not additional buses at Heathrow or staff? You’ve planned engineering works and had a major issue yet not seeing any response?

[Dave Pickett @dspickett]

@ShruggedAslef @NootiNoot02 @TfL I’m surprised that Heathrow being one of the world’s busiest airports doesn’t have a staffing team for situations like this to liaise with TfL? Or that TfL doesn’t have an on site team at such a key route? Abroad this role definitely exists

[Dave Pickett @dspickett]

@ShruggedAslef @NootiNoot02 @TfL In fact let’s go basic and just stick some staff and some signage up - it’s unfair on drivers to have to do crowd control, information and then do the actual driving

[Dave Pickett @dspickett]

@ShruggedAslef @NootiNoot02 @TfL Sorry I mean use the existing routes just run them as express to the first mainline / TfL station - no need to change anything else and then just stick a couple of staff to make things less chaotic (or just do the latter with a nice traditional queue 🤣🤣)

[Dave Pickett @dspickett]

@NootiNoot02 @TfL No need to - redirect some buses as direct to TfL station (on existing routes) services on a loop and have a couple of staff setup makeshift cordon and queues with clear info
Could ask a couple of other providers with capacity to provide a similar service

[Dave Pickett @dspickett]

@ShruggedAslef @TfL Will add the bus driver on the 350 to West Drayton was great - helpful and got as many people as physically possible in so kudos (if that’s some kinda option?)

[Dave Pickett @dspickett]

@TfL are there extra buses running between Heathrow and London? Be helpful if your staff were on hand to help…

[Dave Pickett @dspickett]

@ShruggedAslef @TfL Understand but the engineering works were planned - they could also redirect existing routes where there’s capacity? Or work with other providers on emergency capacity increase - if only to a TfL station not a full route

[Dave Pickett @dspickett]

@HeathrowAirport you urgently need staff outside T5 bus stop 6 to manage the massive crowds - it’s chaos!

@inquisitor111 @browncharley23 @jeff_106 @mrwilldouglas @CrossCountryUK I’ve been on walk on railways in Europe and never had to stand. It’s appalling how our rail system operates - high fares, dodgy leasing for rolling stock…

@Independent This has been a long road but hoping this announcement is the light at the end of the tunnel!

[Dave Pickett @dspickett]

@paullewismoney Highest in our block £2,350 not sure there’s much higher out there 🤣

[Dave Pickett @dspickett]

@LNER All good - was there before it left thankfully 🤣
Was great, comfortable, service today thank you! 😌

[Dave Pickett @dspickett]

@LNER what platform is the 20:45 from Leeds to London going from? No word from the screen and it’s 10mins to go 😬😬

[Dave Pickett @dspickett]

@TLRailUK @whammylance @jjh @MayorofLondon Sorry didn’t meant to tag you Scottie 😌 was replying to the thread! Seems the 17:27 is running so hopefully things moving 🙃
