@DKThomp @Tyler_A_Harper On the left, the opposition to H-1B (and guestworker programs in general) is exposure to abuse and an inability to integrate. Permanent visas remove much of that meaning those workers are less likely to put downward pressure on working conditions for Americans.

@DKThomp If he had won 60+ seats in the Senate and a wide majority in the House, then he would have a mandate, meaning he could do whatever he wants without fear of obstruction. He does not have that.

@AJentleson @Leah_Abrams There is a place for activism and a place for governing. I have done both and they are different in both responsibilities and actions. Activism is necessary to push the envelope of what's possible as far as possible. Governing is deciding where that is.

@HalSinger @matthewstoller FTC Chair Kahn has done a great job. The VP however, if she becomes President, has the right to name anyone she wants to Chair the FTC. Donors don't speak for her and she doesn't seem prone to being bullied by anyone. Progressives have foes, VP Harris isn't one of them.
