@nextlevelbb Be great at tough. Easy to say and hard for kids to register. Unlike other sports, baseball is very often played hours or even minutes later. If players allow the negative to linger, that mindset will trickle into the next game. The only thing that matters is the next pitch.
@lenny_padilla As a veteran basketball official, the visceral conduct of student sections is gaining momentum in the wrong direction. Just one time in my career I’d like to stop the game, go to the scorers’ table and read the pre-game sportsmanship message that the PA announcer recites.
"The NCAA is almost assuredly, if they found anybody else was working with Connor Stalions on that Michigan staff — whether it's another analyst, all the way up to Harbaugh — would tell U-M, this guy's implicated, too, and that person would be suspended, because the NCAA is trying to create a level playing field.
"Nobody from Michigan (other than Stalions) has been suspended. Two weeks in, it's reasonable to assume, they didn't find anybody else involved."
— Dan Wetzel on 97.1 The Ticket
The way this Michigan sign stealing allegation is being handled in the national media, to me, is a snapshot of a where we are as an industry.
*The NCAA has yet to complete their investigation.
*The NCAA Committee on Infractions has no findings in
front of them.
*Michigan has not been able to respond to any of it.
Yet and still, national "reporters" who take themselves so seriously as "journalists" want to bury Jim Harbaugh and Michigan BEFORE any of the three points I've stated are complete.
Why?
I have always said, my opinion can change with anything official that is presented but until then, why all the hysteria from these people?

@Coach_Theisen I’ve been a basketball referee for over 40 years. I’ve coached baseball longer than that. I’ve met and worked with countless athletic directors. Wayne Welton is the classiest, most efficient and most personable AD whom I have met. Chelsea has been blessed! Thank you my friend!
@seideljeff@freepsports I’m wishing the best for Jim Price’s personal life. However, it is time for him to move on professionally. His worn-out cliches add nothing to the broadcast. He offers very little insight. Andy Dirks injected some humor and valuable perception that has been lacking on the air.
When I first retired I was uncomfortable. I wasn’t happy with my life. I thought I needed to find ways to get comfortable. I figured I could slow down working out. I listened to the voice in my head.
I now know to remove the discomfort I needed to press into discomfort. Exercise, clean diet, consistent sleep, doing challenging things.
A bulletproof mind is the foundation to a fulfilling life. If I say something, I will do it. I am accountable to my word.
What is something you’re challenged with right now? What’s your plan?
Velocity is up in college baseball. Data and metrics are analyzed and emphasized. Here are your team ERAs and WHIPs for D1s in MI for 2022:
6.64/1.72
6.63/1.73
6.16/1.68
6.31/1.62
4.67/1.42
8.77/2.02
Stuff might be ⬆️ but the pitching was 🗑
7% of HS athletes will play in college.
Less than 2% will go D1...
When your child is off to college and you'd do anything for another weekend of family time, most parents will regret giving up their entire family weekends commuting to travel ball tournaments.
