No More Week:
Introducing Karrie who has joined the SaveDAVE team as a national IDVA, which means we are now able to support male victims across England and Wales.
Victim blaming is common particularly for male victims and all this does is devalue their experiences further.
No More week is an opportunity to raise awareness of domestic abuse and sexual violence, aimed at inspiring individuals, organisations and communities to make a change.
Say No more to : Domestic abuse for all victims &
to unconscious bias that exits around male victims of DA.
@LeverClive Much will depend on if they have spoken about it before and the reaction they got - if they received a dismissive response they will be less likely to want to talk about it. Society needs to become more aware of male victims and ready to respond rather than telling men to man up
1 in 4 women and 1 in 6 men will experience domestic abuse in their lifetime.
This video by @ManKindInit may be 8 years old but it is just as relevant today.
We all have a responsibility to take a stand against inappropriate behaviour

Men experience #DomesticAbuse too, often in silence. They don’t always know they are experiencing abuse and can be scared of being ridiculed or disbelieved. Help male victims get help and support > https://t.co/wQxY1zijTj

For upcoming #internationalmensday we hope the new Govt sees sense and stops classing male victims of domestic abuse as victims of violence against women and girls. Below is what current Govt policy says. We hope @DinesVisits@SuellaBraverman and #EdwardArgar change tack.
