🧬 MSI vs MMR — “The Proofreader & Typos” Analogy

📖 DNA = a massive book
📂 Each chapter = a gene
✍️ Each sentence = the genetic code

🔎 MMR (Mismatch Repair) = the Proofreader

🧬 Genes: MLH1, MSH2, MSH6, PMS2

✅ pMMR (proficient MMR):
Proofreader works → catches spelling mistakes (replication errors)

❌ dMMR (deficient MMR):
Proofreader absent → errors accumulate

✒️ Where do most errors (typos) occur?

👉 In repetitive phrases = microsatellites (short, repeated DNA sequences)

📊 MSI (Micro satellite Instability) = The Typos You Can See

🔺 MSI-H (High)
📈 Pages filled with mistakes
