When I met @Wangchuk66 yesterday he said that Winter is over-All is Well Now!
“Now that the winter is over I’m telling you that this was the coldest winter in my life. People say, but you are from #Ladakh. Yes, but in Ladakh we have good preparations. Our passive solar heated houses stay at +18 deg C, others heat with bukharis. I have done hunger strikes outdoor in -25 deg C; I have even been to Antartica. And for that we are prepared. But this was the coldest experience in bed at night so far. Here it was +6 deg C outside and +6 deg C indoors. My big hall cell of cement and stone has 10 windows with only iron bars, no shutters. When strong winds blow the real feel temperature is around 2 deg C (with wind chill effect). It’s exactly like sleeping under a bridge in Delhi. And in jail there is no concept of bed or mattress or pillow-only blankets on cold concrete floor- they were kind to give extra blankets, but nothing to stop the winds from all the window openings.
But imagine-the borewell water running in pipes outside my door is at 25 deg C - a free resource - hence i wanted to design a no cost, zero carbon floor-hearing system using this water - that would also serve as a cooling system in hot summers for all the barracks in all the prisons across India. I hope I will get support and simple instruments like the thermometers from the jail authorities or permission from court to work on this innovation!”

Remembering the supreme sacrifices & valour of Maj Shaitan Singh and his 120 soldiers of 13 Kumaon at Rezang La.
"Last Man, Last Round" battle, 1962.
Our civilians made an equal contribution during the war, but sadly not a single word has been written about their role.
Changing the name doesn't make much difference. What truly matters is the delivery of services. And real public institutions, be it Panchayat, MC, or Council are gone now. The MimangSe Jabstok program felt more like a formality. Let's focus on what truly benefits the people!
It was a pleasure interacting with the Yak Herders delegation from Ladakh, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Nepal and Bhutan.
Yak is not just a source of livelihood, it is an integral part of the culture, heritage and identity of Himalayan communities. From sustenance to economic value, Yak has been a core pillar for generations of Brokpas across the trans-Himalayan belt.
Glad to share that with the active participation of all members, we have collectively decided to constitute the Yak Federation of India. This platform will bring all Yak herders together enabling coordinated efforts, teamwork and stronger policy interventions with both Government and non-Government organisations.
A significant step towards preserving tradition, enhancing livelihood and strengthening the Yak ecosystem across the Himalayas.
It's been too long! Our main leaders and people voice @Wangchuk, @smanladakh , @NubuTundup@deidankobet are still detained for standing up for Ladakh’s rights, people, and environment. They are the voice of truth, not criminals! Stand with them, speak up, and demand justice! Raise your voice to Release our Leaders Now and let the Voice of Ladakh be heard!

Sonam Wangchuk’s message from Central Jail, Jodhpur.
Today on the 4th of October Ka Tsetan Dorjey Ley ( Sonam Wangchuk’s elder brother ) and I ( Mustafa Haji- Lawyer ) met Mr. Sonam Wangchuk at Jodhpur Central Jail.
Mr. Sonam has conveyed the following message to the people of Ladakh and India.
I am doing well, both physically and mentally and thank everyone for their concern and prayers.
My heartfelt condolences to the families of those people who lost their lives and my prayers with people who are injured and are arrested.
There should be an independent Judicial Inquiry into the killing of our four people and unless that is done I am prepared to stay in Jail.
I stand firmly with Apex Body and the KDA and the people of Ladakh in our genuine constitutional demand for Sixth Schedule and Statehood and whatever actions Apex Body takes in the interest of Ladakh, I am with them , wholeheartedly.
I appeal people to keep peace and unity and continue with our struggle peacefully- in the true Gandhian way of non-violence.
