There is no salvation without prayer.✝️
@BasedTorba Try Opus 5.5, throw it on Medium. I saw a benchmark that says Medium is the smartest and cheapest. I've found it to be surprisingly excellent - but I agree, I'm new modeled worn out. Though 5.5 does surprise me.
A parishioner of mine recently passed away from ALS. It was an extremely difficult cross for him as he suffered a long, slow debilitating decline.
He was one that before his illness, loved going on week long camping/fishing trips, or hiking for days in a row in the middle of nowhere and sleeping out under the stars.
For the last year of his life, he was bed ridden. This was the cross that God saw fit to send him. He prayed for a cure, went on a pilgrimage to Lourdes to beg for a miracle and had many masses offered for a cure. He understood the maxim that we must pray as if everything depends on God, but must work like everything depends on us.
A cure was not God's will, and he accepted it and endured his sufferings with resignation.
The transformation that took place in his soul was something that was truly remarkable. He, like all of us, had many things that needed to be improved, and God in His wisdom saw this cross as the means to accomplish that end. The last time I gave him extreme unction was on Christmas day, and he died the day after. Please pray for the repose of the souls of Ted Jones.
Only a few months earlier, another parishioner of mine, Gerald Crochet, passed away from a brain tumor that was only discovered less than 4 months earlier. A similar story, but his was a much quicker, and even even more stark transformation.
Let this be a reminder to all of us of the value of suffering, and of the loving Providence of God only allows evil that a greater good may come of it.
"And we know that to them that love God all things work together unto good.."
@Bug_Hall@CatholicPipeCo Our family has been focusing on what it means to “live life simply” for the past few months. Need to double down these next few months as the secular holidays approach.
Funny how even a simple life is so extremist these days.
@Bug_Hall@CatholicPipeCo I just finished the book a few months ago by the recommendation of a friend. Very good, have been pondering it ever since. Gives new insight into the things we face on a daily basis.
Love the talk Bug, certainly room for me and my family to be even more extremist in life.
I got really upset earlier about the spiritual state of my family, so I prayed a decade of the Rosary and asked St Charbel to intercede
Just now, totally out of nowhere, Papa told me he intends to go back to Mass and confession after seven years
Please keep praying, everyone!
In your charity, would you consider praying this novena with our family?
The intention is that our baby boy, Gabriel, will make it to baptism next week and live long enough to meet his family. He will be born, God willing, October 24, which is the feast of Saint Raphael
My wife's aunt Sandra is in her final hours. She converted to the Catholic faith a month ago, and received holy viaticum. She was in such beautifully high spirits when she was last conscious, just ready and joyful. Please, in your charity, offer a prayer for her. Deo gratias💪⚜️
Please pray that our anatomy scan goes well tomorrow. I would like to have one baby that isn’t IUGR and I don’t have to have weekly ultrasounds and an induction for
