Stop punishing women for the crimes committed against them.

Across our country, women are afraid to walk the streets, afraid of being harassed, afraid of being raped. And the government’s answer: stay at home.

This is patriarchy at work: a system that blames the victim and shields the criminal. It is time to smash it.

The solution is not to lock women inside. It is to make our streets safe, to confront the mindset of men who mistreat women, and to punish those who attack them, swiftly and without exception.

Thousands of students and young people are on the streets demanding safety for women. I urge even more young women, especially GenZ across India to come out in stronger numbers.

This government is deaf to your pain and will only listen when it’s under pressure.

Peaceful protest is your democratic right, and I stand with you wholeheartedly.

It’s a tragic irony that the nation awarded military honour to the Bravehearts from this God-forsaken state, Manipur, while the state has been left alone to be burnt and destroyed for more than three years now, with thousands still languishing in wretched conditions in the so-called “relief camps”, and many deprived of their fundamental rights under the Constitution...

Two of them were awarded Vir Chakra, the third-highest wartime gallantry award, namely, Sqn. Ldr. Rizwan Malik, a Manipuri fighter pilot flying the deep-strike Sukhoi Su-30MKI of the Indian Air Force, was awarded the Vir Chakra for his daring act of bombing and destroying camps of inimical forces deep inside enemy territory during Operation Sindoor, while Constable Chingakham Deepak (BSF) was martyred at the Indo-Pak border at Jammu during Operation Sindoor.

While four others were awarded Shaurya Chakra, Maj Leishangthem Deepak, a member of the elite 11 Para (Special Force) of the Indian army, Subedar P.H. Mosses, Naib Subedar (now Subedar) P. Prabin, and Rifleman Manglem Sang Vaiphei …

I had reminded the nation earlier, on the floor of our Temple of Democracy, about the likes of Maj Ngangom Joydutta, who died fighting in Sri Lanka as a part of the IPKF, and was awarded the Vir Chakra and Maj Laishram Jotin, who died fighting suicide bombers who attacked the Indian mission in Afghanistan, was awarded the Ashok Chakra…besides numerous sports stars who brought laurels to the country…and yet the state was subjected to an unprecedented insult and tragedy for years on…The saga continues…

आदरणीय प्रधानमंत्री जी,

मैं आपको उस समिति के अध्यक्ष के रूप में लिख रहा हूँ, जिसका गठन केंद्रीय अन्वेषण ब्यूरो (CBI) के अगले निदेशक की सिफारिश करने के लिए किया गया है, ताकि मैं इसकी कार्यवाही के प्रति अपनी असहमति दर्ज करा सकूँ।

आपकी सरकार ने बार-बार CBI का दुरुपयोग किया है, जो कि भारत की प्रमुख जांच एजेंसी है, ताकि राजनीतिक विरोधियों, पत्रकारों और आलोचकों को निशाना बनाया जा सके। ऐसी संस्थागत पकड़ को रोकने के लिए ही लोकसभा में विपक्ष के नेता को चयन समिति में शामिल किया गया है। दुर्भाग्यवश, आपने इस प्रक्रिया में मुझे कोई सार्थक भूमिका देने से लगातार इनकार किया है।

बार-बार लिखित अनुरोधों के बावजूद, मुझे पात्र उम्मीदवारों की स्व-मूल्यांकन रिपोर्टें या 360-डिग्री रिपोर्टें उपलब्ध नहीं कराई गईं। इसके बजाय, मुझसे अपेक्षा की गई कि मैं समिति की बैठक के दौरान पहली बार उन उनहत्तर उम्मीदवारों के मूल्यांकन अभिलेखों की जांच करूँ। 360-डिग्री रिपोर्टें मुझे पूरी तरह से देने से मना कर दी गईं। प्रत्येक उम्मीदवार के इतिहास और प्रदर्शन का आकलन करने के लिए इन अभिलेखों की विस्तृत समीक्षा अत्यंत आवश्यक है। बिना किसी कानूनी आधार के जानकारी से इस प्रकार वंचित करना चयन प्रक्रिया का उपहास है और यह सुनिश्चित करता है कि केवल आपका पूर्व-निर्धारित उम्मीदवार ही चुना जाए।

मैं आपको स्मरण कराना चाहता हूँ कि मैंने 5 मई 2025 की पिछली बैठक में भी अपनी असहमति दर्ज कराई थी। मैंने 21 अक्टूबर 2025 को भी आपको पत्र लिखकर निष्पक्ष और पारदर्शी प्रक्रिया के लिए सुझाव दिए थे, जिनका मुझे आज तक कोई उत्तर भी प्राप्त नहीं हुआ है।

चयन समिति से महत्वपूर्ण जानकारी छिपाकर सरकार ने इसे केवल एक औपचारिकता बना दिया है। विपक्ष का नेता कोई “रबर स्टाम्प” नहीं है। मैं इस पक्षपातपूर्ण प्रक्रिया में भाग लेकर अपने संवैधानिक दायित्व से विमुख नहीं हो सकता।

अतः मैं इस पर अपनी कड़ी से कड़ी असहमति दर्ज करता हूँ।

दाल में कुछ काला है, जिसे नजरअंदाज किया जा रहा है।

ये लोग पेपर लीक से न सिर्फ हमारे छात्रों का भविष्य तबाह कर रहे हैं, बल्कि दुनिया में उनकी छवि को भी नुकसान पहुँचा रहे हैं।

पेपर लीक करने वालों के खिलाफ कड़ी कार्रवाई होनी चाहिए और दोषियों को कड़ी से कड़ी सजा देनी चाहिए।
