Madhya Pradesh 🇮🇳 has great opportunities for climate leadership.

Two weeks before the start of UN climate talks in Baku, the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh hosted climate consultations in Bhopal. I was honored to speak.

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav and many state leaders were present.

Here are 4 oppotunities for green leadership from the state:

* Embracing the renewable economy and become a center for solar, wind and hydro. Madhya Pradesh already hosts the worlds largest floating solar plant at Omkareshwar.

* Building upon the astonishing natural beaty of the state and tap into the voluntary Carbon market to finance protection of forests and wetlands, natural farming.

* Leading in the circular economy. Indore is the cleanest city in India and shows that a rapidly growing development city can create a circular waste model.

* Providing global spiritual leadership based on the amazing heritage of Bharat with the Adi Shankara Oneness Center, Ujjain as the historical city of mathematics and all the wonderful age old Indian thinking highligting the bonds between humans and nature.
