Parody destroyer of the franchise you love. You thought Vinny was the problem. Then you thought it was Bruce. Never selling the team, you're too dumb to make me
MEGA THREAD - Here's a timeline of my disgusting and abhorrent ownership of the #WashingtonFootball#NFL franchise. The on-field follies are well-documented and would break Twitter, so I'm leaving those out. You will NOT believe some of the shit I've done.
@TomLindholm314@Commanders THANK YOU for supporting my brand 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻. If you're ever in London sometime, let me know. I don't get much of an opportunity to be a perv these days.
Greetings from London! Been a while. Tanya and I would just like to thank the few of you defending my commie brainchild lately. You're the same ones who had my back when fans wanted me to sell the team.
Thanks to you, my name and logo might be forever ❤️. Hail to the Commanders!
.@michaelpinRVA: "I think [@Commanders] is an objectively bad name for a football team, and I think it's got the Snyder stench to it and always will. You think about Josh Harris, how he's going to monetize this investment... he wants to win football games, but he wants to make a lot of money too. It's with a global brand, an exciting brand in an exciting new stadium, and "Commanders" is not a globally exciting brand. I think a [rebrand] is coming."
I couldn't even begin to imagine allowing the man who subjugated the franchise, its fans, and its employees for decades - and then killed its internationally beloved and founding @NFL brand - the hallowed privilege of deciding its new identity going forward.
Is there any evil anyone could commit against you that you'd actually fight and not just meekly accept? How little does this franchise mean to you for you to allow its ultimate tormentor to dictate its most important decision ever?
The only honest thing I've ever heard the minority that are Commie fans say is that they "don't understand" us. Well, I'm proud to say that I, too, could never, ever be able to understand you.

Besides Redskins, which of [only these two] names pairs better with Washington's iconic logo?
Each has its advantages and disadvantages. For example, Warriors offers some nice alliteration while Braves was the franchise's original name.
Turns out your Legend (& RocNation dude) aren’t good karma. In case you forgot- this clown launched #SurvivingWashington book about his experience w/ sexual harassment @ the team riding the coattails of true victims who came fw (& then pulled it likely after payoff). #tookcommand
Ok, a lot to unpack from this thread. I'm quoting the post that may be most important to us.
I've read over the thread a million times trying to glean what it all means for our dream of seeing the logo back as part of a rebrand. Just so many questions:
How much is to be believed? Is the Senator being completely honest or just softening the blow of letting the bill pass? I don't mean to be harsh, but I'm sure even he would admit it's a fair question to ask any politician.
Are the Commies being forthright with he and the Wetzels (and other stakeholders like the White Calfs), or did they hoodwink them/do something else to get the bill passed?
Is the NFL being genuine about allowing the logo to be used for a future foundation?
If it can be used for a foundation, why not on the helmets again? Let alone official team merch.
Would the team just license out rights to the logo, as in not actually use it but let a foundation use it for its own purposes (merch, etc.)? That would be better than nothing and I'd certainly buy the merch, but that would obviously not get me back on board as a fan since nothing would have changed for the team brand-wise in that scenario.
The Senator was just pleading to corporate sponsors the other day (which is key). But why would he need to do that if he had been working with them for months already as stated in this thread?
What is the result of this work with sponsors and the league? Where are we at and what's left to do? How can we help?
So are we actually about to be back? Or is this all gonna go away, like our fandom for this team did?
Why hasn't the team said anything about working to allow the logo to be used again?
I'm just trying to find the absolute truth here so we can spare ourselves any more heartache.
Talk about burying the lede of the RFK story. This is so much more important to so many of us than where they play, since we don't even care about the team in its present, Dan Snyder-branded state.
The Senator has to know that saying this stuff is really gonna set some super high expectations. I swear to God I don't know whether to be excited or depressed right now 😑. Rollercoaster of a day.
I may set aside a few thousand bucks for merch sales just in case.
From the new series “Cross” S1 E1 called ‘Hero Complex’ on Prime Video sporting our #Redskins name & imagery! #HTTR#educatenoteradicate Even Amazon Prime who were party to blocking our name and imagery are embracing it. Shouldn’t Josh Harris & @Commanders ?
Honor & Recognition of #TwoGuns for which the people and especially the Fans wanting him represent the team again. There is great history of this warrior, a warrior who looks out for his people and in his time” John #TwoGuns represented his family & people, the Blackfeet people along with my Chief grandfathers who traveled to D.C., New York City and Philadelphia a lot to talk with our Presidents & delegates at the time. A very admirable person and his image was sought after by many, and the many people who wanted to meet him & my grandfathers. Since his image was chosen to represent the team, we would like for him to be brought back and his past remembered & honored, he was one of our family Chiefs/Warriors and for their time was looking after the interest of our Blackfeet Nation and our People, traditions, culture & heritage. We are a Praying family for which we say God Bless.
@SkinsDraft My suspicion is that they’re doing the behind the scenes work to have this be a done deal once they announce it. They’ve been very tight lipped with everything else they’ve done, and they know we hate the name. I trust them.
🚨TRENDING: Fans are saying Donald Trump should immediately make an executive decision to change the #Commanders name back to the Redskins.
According to polls, the majority of fans are in favor of changing the name back
NEW: The Washington @Commanders brand continues to be deeply unpopular, according to surveys by Statista and Elevent.
The Commanders are the NFL's least popular team, according to the first survey published earlier this year, which asked respondents how positively they viewed each of the league's 32 clubs. (https://t.co/xQTEhGQgxV)
Six of the bottom ten franchises are either among the league's youngest, or are among the most recently to have moved, suggesting fan sentiment of the Commanders brand is in line with that of expansion or relocated teams.
According to the other survey, conducted during the current NFL season, the Commanders have the third fewest fans in the league. Only the Houston Texans and Jacksonville Jaguars have less. (https://t.co/M3FSCpkn2c)
By contrast, Washington had the tenth, sixth, and eighth most fans in Harris Interactive polling in 1998, 2003, and 2008 respectively, when they were known as the Redskins.
Despite being in the league's second-smallest market, the Bills - along with the Cowboys and Bears - are all in the top 10. Neither of the three have won a Super Bowl this century.
The results further illustrate the importance of branding on commercial popularity, and more specifically on fan allegiance to sports teams. Wins and star players can provide marginal and temporary boosts, but there appears to be no substitute for the equity of brand legacy, heritage, and recognizability.
The information matches other recent data.
A Washington Post poll conducted earlier this year showed that the Commanders, whose current identity was chosen under the ownership of Daniel Snyder, are only the third-favorite professional team in their own city, a once-unthinkable reality during the Redskins era.
The franchise also witnessed the league's second-worst year-over-year growth in value at just 4%, according to Forbes' 2024 NFL team valuations.
A previous survey by Finance Buzz revealed that Commanders merchandise sales are also near the bottom of the league.
The Kansas City Chiefs are the NFL's most popular team, according to the Statista survey, despite some criticizing the use of Native American branding and imagery.
Others, including some Native Americans, have argued that Native American representation in branding, when done correctly, can be a boon. The Chiefs' popularity, combined with how favorably the Redskins were viewed in Harris polling, may bear that out. If nothing else, the data suggests few, if any, ill effects from Native American-themed branding alone.
The Chiefs, for their part, regularly engage with Native American communities, something the Redskins seldom did under Snyder.
As ex-fans of the Washington franchise gradually move on without football, the clock may be ticking on salvaging the former base. Now in its second season, the Josh Harris-led ownership group has been coy, largely ignoring calls for a rebrand more closely aligned with the team's history and former identity as several polls indicate most want — including surveys conducted by news outlets and research firms.
Though "Redskins" remains the moniker fans identify with most, alternatives such as Braves (the franchise's original nickname), Warriors, Redwolves, and Hogs have all been popular alternatives in polling.
Summary of latest @Commanders data:
- Least popular team in the @NFL (Statista)
- t-3rd fewest fans in the NFL (Statista/Elevent)
- Massive decline from top 10 popularity (1990s-2010s) as Redskins (Harris Interactive)
- 2nd-worst growth in NFL franchise value in 2024 (Forbes)
- Fan sentiment is in line with expansion and relocated teams
Results are in line with previous data:
- Third most popular team in their own city (WaPo)
- 2nd-worst merchandise sales in the NFC and worst per capita in the NFL (FinanceBuzz)
- Majority of fans polled consistently seek a new name tied to the team's heritage
