@mdvessely@LangfordMoreau Nice work. Hard to tell from the photo but looks like it also needs more widening of the sand area on the right tied into the level of the fairway. Keep it up.
@putt4dough24 The old principals nose bunker protected the 10th green on the pre-Raynor course at CGC. That hole and that feature was new in 1910, added by Dave Foulis after Walter Travis criticized the course following the 1909 Amateur.
@JoshuaWCarroll@nle_golf Our plan is to restore to what was built as historically accurate as we can determine. There is no evidence of a bunker left on the aerial from late 1930’s. So we are not going to put sand below the green on the left.
@dgblum The before after views of every hole will be amazing. Every hole is being dramatically improved from tees, fairway widths, all new LM a bunkers, green expansions and 5 new greens. Visuals, strategy, playability for all skill levels!
@LangfordMoreau@kurteverett The routing of the holes is very much intact so typical LM shot values. The greens were blown up 10-15 years ago and original bunkers are mostly erased. But still an enjoyable walk with some quite good land.
@golf69ski88@Sand_Valley The most varied and interesting terrain at Sand Valley. Wonderful views between holes with glimpses of the Sand Valley course. The width off the tee is complemented by land forms that narrow the effective landing areas. Some of the greens were effectively quite narrow as well.
@cdpgolf1@TurfSimpsonR@putt4dough24@BPBlackMetal It would be more accurate to say Colt revised Barker’s original routing before the course was built. No evidence they worked together. Also not clear if Ross followed a plan or did his own thing. Regardless a very exciting development given the history and architects involved.
