Pursuing my M.Ed. in eLearning & Instructional Design @ Northeastern University
@pjbishop93 Fascinating!!
This immersive treatment distraction with VR could apply to so many other areas!
Other arduous, time consuming service that require little participation from the participant could be improved similarly with AR/VR.

@kristinburgh@TheresaLacey10@JacquelynBertm1@DomTech11@pjbishop93 @CafarelliNicole Once AR/VR reaches low-cost/high-abundance, it is going to connect people around the world in ways beyond what the internet allows today.
Distance will become arbitrary for a number of things!
This article further discusses VR/AR and Tourism!

@JacquelynBertm1@DomTech11@pjbishop93@TheresaLacey10 @CafarelliNicole Based on the TED Talk with David Rapien (2018), I could see educators layering knowledge-check questions and open-ended reflection questions into virtual tours so students are actively engaging in the tour beyond just playing with the still-novelty of VR.

@FrankieCapps This article discusses how microcredentials have continued to grow during this pandemic.
Though the focus is mainly on student-benefit, much of its arguments apply to general workforce learning as well.

@FrankieCapps There could be links to online training resources for the job-listed microcredentials within the job listing, allowing job-seekers to know exactly what education they need to pursue to fill their knowledge gaps and be qualified to apply.
No more vague qualifications

@FrankieCapps This is a great point! Taking advantage of 'chunking' of material has a lot of benefits, from allowing quick exploration of a topic, to facilitating greater retention.
Also, microcredentials can be flexibly combined to create much more personalized course of study.

@FrankieCapps@pjbishop93@BethOber1 Very true. VR is much more intrusive and requires much more physical environment manipulation/preparation than an overlayed AR experience.

@TommyWa56272129 Once VR is abundant for remote learners, the ability to immerse students, engage them, and minimize traditional distractions will greatly improve!

AR/VR is an amazing emerging technology.
I was intrigued by the notion of gathering individuals in a virtual environment, using avatars for virtual interaction
There could be great applications for behavior and classroom management trainings/role-play practice

@TheresaLacey10 Generally in special ed & related voc-training, AR/VR can provide risk-free, immersive simulation training/practice.
Combined with multiple users in a single environment, the concept of voc/job practice, as well as routine-building will be revolutionized & improved!

I enjoyed the enthusiasm in much of this week's material towards educators using simple strategies to create VR/AR content.
This is a great message to promote open-content creation.
Time to research if there are any networks/platforms/sites out there...

@LiuYunika I really like word-clouds as well. They are a great way to collaborate everyone's input into an engaging visual, which then can spark further conversation!

@bwatwood@BethOber1@olivia_teaches@PearDeck Presently, I encounter resistance in expanding polling/data-collection, though I have greater confidence in my ability to advocate through my learning in this course!
#EDU6323
@bwatwood@BethOber1@olivia_teaches@PearDeck@BethOber1 I am also facing the same daunting task of assessing social-emotional wellbeing of students.
Assessments/polls provide a great tool, but the challenge is to convince decision-makers to enact large-scale ARS.
