@itsolelehmann I have four daughters and tbh, often I talk with more people that don’t want to have kids, can’t afford it, school vacancies, reduced independence, tax breaks that don’t incentivise increasing birth rates. I’m privileged but even with four kids I pay almost 50% taxes

@DadaJudith Also any other entrepreneur trying to make business with German companies gets bombarded with a legal and compliance checklist first. Once a German customer, knowing that we were a 2 month old startup, asked us for our ISO 27001 😅😅. It’s bonkers

@patrickc Im Portuguese and I live here so i know pretty well how things happen. If your foreign, have money, most of the companies or small contractors will slap you with the “estrangeiro” tax. A service of 200€ goes is quoted at double or triple

@patrickc In Portugal you pay corporate tax even if your company is making losses. We’ve had this during our first quarters. Also you pay extra tax for taking a customer to dinner and I could go on. In Portugal, we feel like we are playing in extra hard mode

@laplacian28 @patrickc It’s crazy! That’s why the only way Portugal attracts people through Golden Visas and similar tax breaks..

@patrickc They have all of this taxes like tributação autónoma. Worse, for a company to pay a 2K€ net monthly salary, the total cost for the company is almost paying 3800€ in total. Half of the amount is taxes, social security, insurances, etc!!
