I wrote about China-maxxing and the Kill Line for @jacobin, explaining how both memes come from American and Chinese workers' shared anxieties about economic security
Chinese observers see US dysfunction and feel their own problems are manageable. Meanwhile, Americans idealize China’s efficiency and security.
Beneath both views, each society faces similar issues: alienation, unemployment, and weak welfare systems. https://t.co/3K240GqUrE
Reynoso is basically saying Hakeem Jeffries has more energy to retaliate against NY-7 residents than he does to stand up to Donald Trump. We are sick of being held hostage by a democratic establishment that you have to pledge fealty to or else.
Restaurant: use WeChat to order
Me: great
WeChat: we need to verify your ID again to continue
So I’m sitting in a restaurant taking yet another photo of my passport and yet another video selfie of poking my cheek and in the end it’s like “we’ll get back to you in 3-4 days”
“It all makes for a gloomy outlook. Already, more than 40 Chinese solar firms have gone bankrupt, been acquired or delisted from stock exchanges since 2024. One-third of the workforce of the country’s five biggest solar-industry firms has been laid off, according to Reuters…”
It’s an honor to receive Mayor Mamdani’s endorsement. I’ve had the privilege of organizing alongside Zohran and working together to introduce the Not On Our Dime bill to stop the flow of money for Israel’s war crimes against Palestinians. I look forward to continuing our partnership when I’m in Albany to ensure New Yorkers can live dignified lives in a city they can afford.
So proud to have the Mayor's endorsement. We fought side-by-side for the landmark Build Public Renewables Act and won a major victory for climate justice. We'll continue organizing together in city hall and Albany, for a New York that works for all of us—not just the wealthy few
I am proud to endorse a slate of candidates who will champion our affordability agenda in Albany. These leaders represent the very best of public service: a commitment to tackling challenges both large and small and a belief that government should work for everyone—not just the wealthy and well-connected.
"If you exclude semiconductors and AI servers, Taiwanese exports have actually fallen by 40% since 2022. In South Korea, non-AI exports have stagnated and Japan’s industry is in decline." 1/5

Last year, @ZohranKMamdani showed the entire country that people power can beat a machine. I’m thrilled to have his support!
I look forward to fighting for our shared vision of a more affordable New York—one where we invest in our communities, not in bombs abroad—in Congress.
I am thrilled to have the endorsement of @NYCMayor.
This time last year, I was canvassing Uptown and the Bronx in support of candidate Mamdani's affordability agenda, and today Mayor Mamdani is endorsing our campaign to bring that affordability agenda from Washington Heights to Washington, DC.
Nos fuimosssssss🏎️🌬️
A small symptom of the decline? The "Philosophy" section in most U.S. bookstores now consists almost exclusively of Stoic authors & their popularizers. People are desperate for a (false) sense of individual personal control even as the world around them reels into greater chaos
Thrilled to see PSC Executive Council member @DrSusanLK appointed by @NYCMayor to the Commission on Government Efficiency. Dr. Kang’s decades-long impact on helping to lead political reforms in New York and her academic credentials make her an excellent choice for COGE.
Yes. But unfortunately we're beyond avoiding tariffs. China very deliberately used protections to make its industrial policy work (investment, joint ventures etc). So I'm all for taking a leaf out of China's book; I think they sometimes wonder why we don't do so more vigorously.
