Today in Boston, during the @orphan_drugs World Orphan Drug Congress, #NORD CEO Pamela Gavin delivered opening remarks stating, “A therapy is not truly available when it is approved. It is available when a patient can actually receive it.”
She then joined fellow patient advocates for the panel, “Building a Patient-Centered Policy Framework for #RareDisease Drug Development,” where she emphasized the need for more de-siloed #DrugDevelopment grounded in a shared understanding of patient needs, experiences, and outcomes.
Thank you to our fellow panelists today for this meaningful discussion!

America’s mental health crisis demands more than awareness. It calls for action.
That’s why ARPA-H is investing $139 million in EVIDENT to accelerate the breakthroughs that will usher in the next era of mental health care. This week in Madison, EVIDENT’s 23 teams came together to launch the first two years of this urgent work.
This week also marked the culmination of a busy Mental Health Awareness Month for ARPA-H, in which we amplified the voices of the veterans, advocates, and innovators who are driving EVIDENT forward. Real progress is powered both by bold action and the people it is meant to serve.
