@FDGenetics I agree, label everything, let consumers decide. PS we haven’t raised enough beef to meet demand in decades. We have always imported beef, the consumer and apparently everyone else was unaware.
@FDGenetics Absolutely. There is no way a country of 330 million people can or should attempt to eliminate the processors and what? Retailers. Access to customers and feasible shipping is what makes the system work. Big producers need feeders and they need a mature meat packing industry.
@ekwufinance They are smart, lock in 30 year after you drive rates down a bit knowing that we will be debasing the dollar at record pace in the years to come
@BeefMaps There is no incentive for Brazil to change anything here. Quota was filled for 26 by the end of January. 26 pct tariff over quota offset by 25 pct price reduction when they enter tariff free is a wash. It’s theater. Trump gets to look like he’s bringing beef down which it won’t.
@MakeGoldGreat My thoughts exactly. Enough already, cut spending by 30-40 pct, use all surpluses to retire debt. We can begin to breathe easy in ten years…maybe.
@LukeGromen@Geiger_Capital The source of all problems discussed is debt and this never ending deficit spending. Without real evidence that we are committed to reversing the trend, all the PhD accounting will do nothing but kick the can.
@MelMattison1 Enron accounting won’t solve anything. Cutting spending by 30 pct and using every dollar of surplus to pay down debt is the only solution and voters will kick and scream.
@RpsAgainstTrump Canada has always been a large part of meeting beef demand. We haven’t raised enough cattle to feed ourselves in decades. What happens to beef prices now?
@5Solas Food for thought brother, I became what you would consider a Calvinist when I had never even heard his name or was aware of the debate…But it is not Calvinism or theology that breathed life into my soul but rather the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Himself. Sola Christo
@zerohedge This is nothing but another attempt to look tough while begging for help and achieving nothing if China is exempt. Looks like desperation to me.
@RalstonReports You are correct and by the way, his recent beef mandate forcing Brazil to sell beef at 25 pct below market but waiving 26 pct target was all theater changing nothing except looking tough to foreigners and compassionate to voters.
