@ryanswalters73 The living Christ is our symbol. He truly died on the cross for us all, but now He lives! The reality of the living Christ is our focus.
I don’t think there’s anything wrong with wearing or displaying a cross. If that is one way you express your faith outwardly, then all well.
@ryanswalters73@leechmon By their fruits you shall know them. That’s what Jesus taught. Yours are anything but Christian whatever you claim.
Really? Name calling? Acting aggressive and hateful towards those you supposedly are trying to convince to come to Christ? What kind of example is that?
A small public service announcement from the Department of Things That You Should Know…
It has not “peeked” your interest.
Nor has it “peaked” your interest.
…It has piqued your interest.
You are not “phased” by something.
You are fazed by it.
If you’ve had a long day, you are weary.
If you suspect someone is an idiot, you are wary.
It is “due course”, not “do course”.
“Per se”, not “per say”.
And while we’re here, it’s “could have”, not “could of”, but that particular battle may already be lost.
Thank you for your attention during this brief outbreak of grammatical housekeeping.
This has been a @LairdofthManor announcement.🎩💙
@quickened2him@Emannytheory@kgp______ You have no consistency in your own arguments. What is it? Is following Christ hard and full of tribulation? Or is it light and easy compared to sin? Is tribulation and persecution a sign we are following God, or a sign our yoke is too heavy and therefore we don’t follow Christ?
@RBryan2@Primary_Pianist This is insane. You create this straw man putting words in people’s mouths that is so utterly ridiculous that it undermines your entire argument. You should have left off at the first post with scriptures and an invitation to read. You torpedoed everything by going off the rails.
@joe__agnello@StephSandberg This is the first time some kind of real invitation was extended that I have seen. Throughout days of “you aren’t real Christians” very few did anything but tear down and build walls. It flew in the face of Christ’s message.
So for that sincere invitation, thank you.
@PaulieGee2004@Primary_Pianist@5Solas Well I guess that’s fair enough. Everyone should read the Bible. The show may be good but is never a substitute for the Bible.
As to inserting into Christian discussion, there is a difference between mockery and sincere truth seeking. Sincerity should not be turned away.
@joe__agnello@StephSandberg What do you mean you care about us? You said it doesn’t work that way. It takes the Spirit working on our hearts which is the only way we would leave. So why say anything? It’s not about love. It’s pride wrapped in the trappings of faith. You tear down, you don’t invite
@PaulieGee2004@Primary_Pianist@5Solas Oh my goodness your grammar is hard to follow. Whatever, not a salvation or character issue.
Let’s make it simple: for someone who seeks to follow Christ and believe in Christ, what about the Chosen could lead them away from Christ and endanger their sincere faith in Him?
@PaulieGee2004@Primary_Pianist@5Solas You have reduced the universal message of salvation through Christ to some kind of exclusive book club. Or you still hide from the fact that you have made assertions that you cannot articulate a defense of. Either way, it is shameful. Hypocrite. Jesus had strong words for you.
@PaulieGee2004@Primary_Pianist@5Solas I feel like you have a fundamental misunderstanding of the meaning of humble. Everyone has an interest in knowing what makes this popular show either a reasonable story about Christ and the disciples vs a damning heresy. Should especially be important for “non-Christians” to know
@PaulieGee2004@Primary_Pianist@5Solas Aaaand you double down. Awesome. Being humble is part of being Christian. It’s ok if you don’t know the answer. Nobody is perfect.
@PastorBowman@LutheranAnswers Taking God’s authority isn’t the point. The point is keeping the commandments to be like Him. Because that is what He asks of us. Because trying to do so brings joy and makes us better as people, which we owe to the grace and mercy of God. God gave us all the drive to be better.
@RonDuncan7@PetGorilla God commanded them to leave. God still expected them to worship Him and follow the law of Moses. Provisions would have been made.
What was the point of the Law of Moses?
@PastorBowman@LutheranAnswers Matthew 5:48, Romans 8:16-17.
Being like God is a commandment. If God’s perfection is so completely outside our understanding and morality as we understand it doesn’t apply, why did Jesus tell us to be perfect like our Father in Heaven?
@TheBabylonBee I came for the ratio but it looks like that’s not happening. My faith in humanity can get lower after all.
I can’t even call these fighting words. These are just the words you say when you want to have your butt kicked.
@Sara_Costa_1008@bridledserpent No, there’s no translation needed. You really are coming across so immature and childish that I don’t even recall what the original argument was. Something about IQ? Or was this a religious discussion? Whatever. Carry on with your middle school ad hominems.
@Sara_Costa_1008@bridledserpent Not really. Acceptance of the creeds has superseded acceptance of the Bible according to many recent discussions. People may not like it, but they brought it on themselves. If the true test of being Christian is acceptance of the creeds, then what else is to be concluded?
