Today, I received a delegation from Yakubu Gowon University (formerly University of Abuja) as we advanced discussions towards the formal affiliation and introduction of four specialised undergraduate degree programmes in Election and Democratic Studies, Legislative Studies and Policy Analysis, Strategic Communication and Official Reporting, and Legislative Studies and Administration.

This partnership reflects our shared commitment to developing specialised human capacity that responds to Nigeria’s legislative, democratic, administrative and communication needs.

I am confident that this emerging collaboration will further strengthen the sustained partnership between NILDS and the University and contribute meaningfully to capacity development for our nation.

Persona Non Grata goes to NILDS

For many public officials, Friday evenings are a time to unwind. But as of 5:30 p.m. today, the Director-General of the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies @nildsnigeria, Professor Abubakar O. Sulaiman, was still at his desk.

I took the opportunity to present my book, Persona Non Grata, to him.

For those who may not know, NILDS was established to support and strengthen the country's legislature in advancing the ideals of democratic governance through research, advocacy, teaching, and networking. Since assuming office six years ago, the current DG has remarkably transformed the Institute.

Prof., thank you for granting me the audience. I look forward to your review of Persona Non Grata.
