I hope, that given the seriousness of the problem, and the lives of over 20-25 lakh people being effected due to these issues, @PiyushGoyal ji, @GhatakMoloy ji and @teaboardofindia officials will kindly consider my requests and work towards resolving these issues at the earliest.
--Tea garden wise ‘Task Force’ should be developed for sensitizing people, tracing spotting and counselling patients and their family members.
-- Workers in closed and abandoned tea gardens must be provided with emergency financial relief, food, water, electricity & health care.
--The Government of West Bengal along with the tea garden owners should guarantee wages and other emoluments for the workers, during the lock down period.
--Hospitals and Dispensaries in Tea Gardens should be used to set up Covid-19 testing and isolation centres.
--Tea Plantations and Factories should remain a part of the “Complete Safety Restrictions” measure taken under the “West Bengal Epidemic Diseases COVID-19 Regulations 2020.”
In this regard, I have today raised the following issues with Union Minister for Commerce and Industries Shri @PiyushGoyal ji, WB Labour Minister,
