@Aussie_Basher@BoogalooNick@GerrySamuels12@benonwine I came here to say much the same. I remember walking across the frozen lake in my home town several times in the 1970s. I moved away in the 1980s, but as far as I know it never freezes now.
@MonkEmma Thanks for that. I was 14 at the time, and I find many of the comments I see here about that summer delusional. What I also remember is that the winters were much colder than they are now.
@_tararais_@Veritas17159263@CallumLyon Same here, almost. I pay Tesco £8.57 a month (started at £7.50 a few years ago). Unlimited calls and texts. Only 2 gig data though.
@anon_opin BS. I use Royal Mail click and drop for my business 5 days a week and not only do all the postcodes print out correctly, but it actively rejects any lacking spaces or containing extra spaces.
@Alex_Stafford@TfL Well, I'm sorry to hear that, but you do realise one assault proves nothing about the overall level of lawlessness? Nor who is responsible, other than the perpetrator?
@ok6ixx You mean a Dramatis Personae? Some novels have one, usually at the beginning - I first came across one in the 1970s, hardly a new idea even then.
@OrevaZSN I was undermined and occasionally bullied by my direct superior in my first job because I had a degree and he didn't. After two years I left and did a long series of dead end jobs because I didn't really believe I could do anything else. Took me decades to recover.
@willroyce_@PEWilliams_ I looked at 3 titles. First is a yes, second and third have no copies of this edition offered in the US but have an equivalent US edition. This is on Abebooks. None, imo are especially valuable.
@willroyce_@PEWilliams_ I've had 3 orders for 8 books from this company in the last 3 days. All out of print SF books, all 1970s UK editions of books that have equivalent US editions. The shipping address is in Illinois (I'm in the UK).
The new Banksy display is winding up all the usual suspects, where presumably the truth hurts.
Whichever way you interept it - the fact is - there is a thin line between patriotism and Nationalism,
Blinded by the flag..Nationalism thrives on “us vs them.”
@realEstateTrent I make a living selling out of print and rare science fiction books on eBay. Plenty of people wanting to fill gaps in their collections.
@graveair My girlfriend sleepwalks, usually when she's upset about something. Last time was a few months ago. Luckily I stay up later, so I have so far managed to stop her going outside with no clothes on!
