@Skirp_Rawdogin It is interesting to think about how we change the portrayal of ourselves on different apps but it makes sense because they all do something different. You’re going to be more professional on LinkedIn compared to Snapchat or Twitter because LinkedIn is a lot more professional.

My a-ha moment this semester was learning about fake news compared to factual news. Fake news is spread 6 times faster than factual news which is a pretty scary thing. Is there anything society can do to stop this problem? #450SocialSP23

@kenzipalmerbsu Fake news has taken over media and is spread so much faster than real news is. Unless you are doing your own research and checking sources it can be very easy to fall victim to fake news. It’s unfortunate that this fake news problem might never be fixed. #450SocialSP23

@RehkemperLainey I can’t think of a time that would make fake news a positive thing. Spreading false information and narratives would only make a situation worse in my opinion and could never be used to resolve a situation. #450SocialSP23

@peyton7622 I get a lot of news from social media and I have come across multiple fake news stories and headlines. Typically if I see a headline that doesn’t seem 100% believable and not from a reputable source I will do my own research on the topic to see if it’s true or not. #450SocialSP23

@Josephigley It is crazy to think about how intertwined our online and offline worlds are becoming. I personally think people will be become less truthful online because it’s so easy to filter and fake everything. You can also stay anonymous without any repercussions with ease. #450SocialSP23

@Josephigley It’s definitely possible for the internet to accept other languages. English is one of the most popular languages in the world and I believe will dominate the internet for a while but who knows maybe down the road another language will take over the internet. #450SocialSP23

@brynnthomas517 Selfies are always fun to take if you have a new out fit or your out with some friends. But I believe there is a time and a place for them. For example I don’t think taking a selfie at a funeral is appropriate because it’s not the right situation for one. #450SocialSP23

@AshleyS62035535 I don’t believe the internet will ever get to the level of intimacy that face-to-face does. Face-to-face feels a lot more personal because you are physically there and showing emotion where as the internet can’t offer that. #450SocialSP23

When he mentions taking reaction selfies that is exactly what we do in todays world instead of using words sometimes. For example with apps like Snapchat and BeReal all your doing is taking a picture most of the time a selfie to show what your doing at that moment #450SocialSP23

@RehkemperLainey I don’t think there is a specific time when we get used to new technologies. I think we get new apps or updated technologies that make us bored of the old technologies. For example I think Instagram took a huge hit in popularity when TikTok became popular.
