Underrated life advice: A good life is built by simply doing uncomfortable things sooner. The delayed conversation gets harder. The ignored problem gets bigger. The small repair gets more expensive. Peace is never found through avoidance. It’s found through direct early action.
I like meeting dudes on the verge of something new. A new business, maybe a new educational program, maybe a new job - a divorce even. Something that demands reinvention. You can see the life in their eyes, the burning fire when they speak of their goals. It's highly contagious.
Our fathers weren't stupid for leaving the house even when jobless. When it's bleak & you find yourself without means, go out there anyway. Go to where the fight is. See people doing it: you become convinced you too can do it. You get courage. You ask questions. Go out there!
Every man must meet his humbling phase in life, it’s better you meet your own quicker and when you’re young so you can get back on your feet than to meet it at the later stages of your life.
... In writing... precision in writing. The greatest minds, seldom make the best orators. Speech is merely transmission of thought. Writing, on the other hand, is translation & transmission. You can bullshit your way through a conversation, can't bullshit your way through a page
I think silence is the highest form of intimacy. Perhaps, the truest marker of compatibility among lovers. While attraction seeks frenzy, forever is a question of stillness: Can we sit still together? Can you be bored with me? How badly do you need to distract yourself from you?
A man's life philosophy
- Discipline
- Order
- Competence
Have a vision. Create a mission. Break your mission into smaller plans. Stick to these plans.
Attract the right network of men around you. Remain focused.
Be ruthless while at it.

Men,
Learn to thrive and survive alone,
People will abandon you,
Your woman will abandon you,
But your spirit will NOT,
But your inner strength will NOT.
Be your own anchor.
YOU ARE A MAN

Denzel Washington was right, always be thankful for the bad things in life. They open your eyes to see the good things you weren't paying attention to before.
I have some advice for young men newly employed,
When you get employed:
• Be grateful to God, your parents, your mentors and your boss for this opportunity
• Work hard
• Respect your employer
• Adhere to your employer's rules and protocols
• Embrace the mission and vision of the employer
However, if working for your employer becomes unbearable due to other reasons,
• Quit respectfully
• Follow the procedures of quitting as written in your contract or employment letter
• Return your employer's resources in your custody
• Handover politely and thank your employer for giving you an opportunity
• Leave with a clean conscience
Don't be chaotic, abusive and contemptuous on your way out.
Don't think you are smarter than your employer.
The employer you are disrespecting gave you a livelihood when you were seeking a footing and direction.
The employer may not have paid you to your satisfaction, but be polite.
Don't go bad mouthing your employer, speaking nastily, and broadcasting your foul mouth while disclosing what is considered private policies, programs, products or services of your former workplace.
Leave courteously.
This way, you open room for better opportunities, newer networks and better leverage.
Don't be a rude employee. Other employers will fear giving you opportunities in the future because they don't trust you.
Be courteous when you close the door behind you, the universe will be kind to you on your way out.
No matter how much potential you have, if you don’t fully lock in and take charge of your life, you’ll eventually end up as the guy who had potential but nothing to show for it.
