Please also advise whether Mr. Kotresh shouting and screaming at female social workers is conduct befitting of a Bengaluru City Police officer.

We checked the CrPC and also the Evidence Act. We couldn't find any mention of the Aadhar card address being compulsory for the address in witness statements.

She even provided Aadhar card as proof of her identity, but just didn't want to receive letters on that address (4/5)

We informed him that as per Witness Protection laws, the police can even empower victims to change their identities altogether, and in spirit of protecting the witness, a different address can be used.

He 100% disagreed and told us that only what he decides will happen. (3/4)

We agreed to let her use our address for purposes of her witness statement & court correspondence.

Kengeri Police Station Inspector Mr. Kotresh had a HUGE problem with this and kept arguing to discourage our female social workers. After this, ACP sir also agreed with him. (2/3)
