As the largest police news outlet in the world, we HATE doing this - but we're CALLING OUT the @MinneapolisPD - and would encourage an investigation by the @TheJusticeDept and @HarmeetKDhillon at @CivilRights!!
Minneapolis PD just labeled Jake Lang a “far-right extremist” in an official ARREST post. That is NOT neutral policing.
Most departments go out of their way to avoid political language. Many agencies and the DOJ have even stopped releasing mugshots to protect the “innocent until proven guilty” standard. Minneapolis did the opposite.
They put the political branding in the first sentence of their public statement while announcing probable cause riot charges after vehicles drove onto the sidewalk near City Hall.
This is the same city run by Mayor Jacob Frey, who has repeatedly sided with progressive and identity-focused policies.
He signed the ordinance allowing the Muslim call to prayer at any hour. His administration has worked to limit federal immigration enforcement on city property.
The previous police chief, Brian O’Hara, spent years cultivating close relationships with the Somali Muslim community, speaking at mosques and elevating officers from that community, before resigning under pressure in 2026 after investigators found he interfered with an internal probe.
When a police department in a left-run city starts using loaded political labels in official charging announcements, it telegraphs the bias.
That kind of language does not strengthen a case. It hands the defense a gift by showing the agency is not operating as a neutral enforcer of the law.
Americans notice when the rules of impartiality only seem to apply in one direction.
Minneapolis PD - get your act together. Crap like this is why good officers are FLEEING that liberal cesspool in droves. Time for a NO CONFIDENCE vote in your leadership.

@PascalGibBN I like how many extreme sports are just falling down a mountain...
Fall down a mountain on a bike.
Fall down a mountain on skis or a sled.
Jump down a mountain without touching anything.
Fall down a mountain while chasing a wheel of cheese.
@eevblog Can't fit a hungry man but I bet you can still fit a lean cuisine in there. Probably need to lose some weight anyway so I think were good until winter at least.
@NasNakarus Needs to attack you every 1000 pieces or so... You can fight back by shooting it, which destroys some hay, but the needle is bullet proof, so you can then continue. After the fight the needle gives off a glow letting you know the direction, at least until the next fight.
@devops_nk Usually this is due to them making a ticketing system only to "help track long term issues" which then devolves a couple years later into something where your evaluation/raise/retention is completely determined by your ticket closure rate and speed.
