This is exactly why billionaires can’t exist. This man is burning the entire world down because he cannot accept his daughter for who she is. And he has the money to actually do it. No one can have that power.
‘BACKROOMS’ director Kane Parsons says he would get “no enjoyment” out of using generative AI on any project — “It defeats the purpose entirely for me.”
“I think I'm in the same boat as most well-adjusted people. If I could snap my fingers and make generative Al disappear forever, I probably would.”

my political awakening involved things like:
- the War on Terror
- the possibility of going bankrupt for lack of health insurance
- the 2008 Financial Crisis
the average rightwinger's political awakening meanwhile involves:
@FormerSoulKing I can't even imagine what it's gonna be like when Kurapika comes across the Troupe and realises they're on a quest for vengeance because their loved ones were killed. I think it's entirely possible the sheer hypocrisy undoes all his character development at once.
@FormerSoulKing The fact that he's willing to let himself be publicly embarrassed like that is also such an interesting side to his character. He doesn't care what people think of him, not from a humble perspective but because he's so consumed by ego that their thoughts mean squat to him
@FormerSoulKing Bungee gum is a meme with how often it gets repeated but every time Hisoka does something new with it I just get bricked up over the fact that he has maybe the most basic nen ability in the verse and still manages to be the most dangerous thing alive outside of the dark continent
@FormerSoulKing Togashi using a literal halo to show Meruem's enlightenment is something else. He sat on the fence between subtext and extremely overt storytelling so hard that it is now entirely up his ass
@FormerSoulKing There is no evil an 'other' could perpetuate to us or anyone else that we haven't already done. But the same can be said to be true of good.
@FormerSoulKing It's popular to frame this arc as "humanity vs inhumanity" but to me what Togashi is saying in the end is that there's no such thing as inhumanity to begin with. We run the gamut of good/evil so fully that just like everything else in earth we have made every inch of it our own.
