The Republican budget bill is not only reckless — it’s cruel. It slashes Medicaid and takes away health care from millions of Americans. It closes rural hospitals and cuts food assistance for our veterans and seniors. It jacks up energy bills. And it could trigger deep cuts to Medicare while driving up the deficit by $4 trillion. All of this to give a massive tax break to billionaires.
Working people deserve better.
I urge my republican colleagues to stop doing what’s right for Trump, and start doing what’s right for American families.
I'll be voting NO on the Republican Price Hike Bill, and I encourage every member of the House to do the same.
House Republicans have jammed through their reckless and disastrous budget bill.
It will add trillions to the deficit, slash health care for countless Coloradans, and jeopardize rural hospitals across our state.
My full statement below.
As Trump prepares to release his budget, I urge the Republican majority to listen to their constituents.
They don’t want massive cuts to Medicaid, Social Security, or VA benefits.
Let’s prioritize everyday Americans — not tax cuts for billionaires.
This is madness. Chris Krebs was a public servant, a GOP appointee, who *did his job* ensuring the 2020 election was secure. For our government to target him like this is appalling & Stalinesque.
Any person who reveres our constitutional republic should speak out against it.
Every senator and member of Congress should immediately and voluntarily disclose any stock, bond, or similar trades they have made in the last ten days.
I am no conspiracy theorist, but it really feels like they are trying to destroy our country from within. Health care, public schools, universities, research, law firms, federal workers, the environment are all getting the axe. What was it again that it made America great? https://t.co/JpEMYLM44o
Murphy: "This is not a normal political fight. What Donald Trump is doing right now is absolutely insidious. He is every single day acting unconstitutionally, he is trying to destroy the rule of law ... this to me is a moment where we need to be restraining the president's power, not giving him new authorities."
FFS.
Arlington National Cemetery has begun wiping from its website histories highlighting Black, Hispanic and women veterans. The change is in line with President Trump's directive to remove references to and support for diversity, equity and inclusion

The most important thing Donald Trump said in the last few weeks wasn't during a speech or a press conference.
In fact, it was hardly caught on camera.
Let's talk about it.
Jeffries: "The average Social Security recipient in the United States receives about $65 a day in benefits. Elon Musk in his contracts with the federal government gets about $8 million a day. If they were really interested in waste, fraud, and abuse, they would start there. But they're not, so they're going after grandma."
Murphy: "If we continue to observe norms, if we continue to engage in business as usual, this democracy could be gone. I don't think we have a year to save American democracy. I think the way the president is acting ... puts out democracy at immediate risk."
The Trump administration shut down a program tracking Ukrainian children abducted by Russia. Canceling this program doesn’t just undermine justice—it helps war criminals.
