No significant moisture in sight for week 1, 2, 3, or 4 for Eastern Corn Belt. Natianal bean yield will be trimmed. Soybeans have a rally coming even with #China absent. Am I long? Not yet but I would like to see a “drop and pop”where I will be buying between 1015-1020 versus X. #oatt #soybeans #corn

Paul Fielder, an old Monsanto colleague, said that 90% of the corn seed now is all inbred from 4 genomes. No one is coding in diversity, they're coding out unwanted traits, hoping for big profit, at the risk of a catastrophic mutation they can't forese.

Nothing was wrong with this post. Yield models are yield models and many things can happen to throw them off. Traders are looking at crop conditions and yield models and driving prices lower. I know my friend has caught a lot of flack for this but if you think one man could make a statement and be blamed for the price today you don't understand markets. @ArlanFF101 please say 168 and let's see if the market goes to $8.00 🤣🤣🤣. The crop is not 186.9 or 184 or 181, there are too many issues now. The 2025 corn crop will be lucky to stay above 180 at this point. Disease is coming in fast and farmers that don't spray will lose 10-40 bushels. Pollination issues are real even though nobody will say so. A lot of the additional acres that were added came from fringe states. A range of 175-180 is fair - even though we are trading 184-186. Demand is record large as well but the market is not ready to turn yet. It will take some more time before we could have a lasting bottom. #corn #oatt

I am using 183 for a yield in my corn BS. Given where the 4.6 million acres were added, I think it seems reasonable. Max yield for me would be 184.

Expectations are so high, I wonder how this crop could disappoint? I could see hot nights and pollination issues reducing yields down 10 bushels.

Left the post up from my Dad but deleted the other two. There is a pollination issue with ours and have heard from others too. They are not sure what’s going on. The other post folks were starting to throw around certain varieties and that’s not what I wanted. Just wanted folks to get out and check their crops for this. We had what we thought was ideal conditions and great potential and are disappointed with what we are finding.
