After a storm, we first clear hazards like downed lines. Once it's safe, we assess damage so our crews can make repairs. Then:
1️⃣ High-voltage lines that provide electricity to local lines
2️⃣ Public service facilities
3️⃣ Outages with the most customers
4️⃣ Individual customers
Today we recognize 988 Day to spread awareness of the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline. We know 988 is saving lives. Today is about reminding Ohioans that they are not alone, and immediate help is available.
⚠️ On #SeniorCitizenDay, we're reminding customers to stay vigilant against scammers who often target vulnerable customers. Scammers can be very convincing but remember to always verify that you're speaking to an employee of FirstEnergy by following these tips!

⚠ Assume downed power lines are energized + dangerous
⚠ Stay at least 30 ft away from downed lines and anything they might be touching
⚠ Use extra caution in areas where lines are tangled in trees or other debris
⚠ Never drive over a downed line

NEWS: Power has been restored to more than 275,000 of the 380,000 customers impacted by the April 29 storm that produced significant, widespread damage due to heavy rain and excessive winds in many parts of the service area.
⚠️ Safety Reminder: High winds and rain can down power lines. If you spot a downed line, dial 9-1-1 right away and always assume they're live and dangerous. Stay at least 30 ft. away from the line and anything it may be touching.
