As we enter the final few weeks of 2023, we are proud to share some of our favorite impact stories from the year.
We're grateful to our expert staff and community partners for helping us create collaborative solutions in the Gulf of Maine and beyond! 🧵⬇️

A massive new federal report says revved-up climate change now permeates Americans’ daily lives with harms that are already far-reaching and worsening across every region of the United States. Here's what it says about the northeast. w/ @jasonmargolis https://t.co/NDIaxiRr1p
“We conclude with a high degree of confidence that Gulf Stream transport has slowed by about 4% in the past 40 years, the first conclusive, unambiguous observational evidence that this ocean current has undergone significant change in the recent past” https://t.co/9SJkWKE9cc
Curious about the effects of climate change on #aquaculture? The Northeast Climate Hub teamed up with @GMRI to share about impacts such as #oceanacidification and #algalblooms.

Earlier this year, postdoctoral researcher @HannahBaranes joined our Climate Center, working alongside @DavidReidmiller, to support the development of localized flood projections that can be used for community-scale planning along Maine’s open coast and estuaries.
“...what this effectively does is give a free pass to those states who are still reliant on fossil fuel generation, putting more of the burden on states like us to take climate action..." — @DavidReidmiller, Climate Center Director, GMRI
