@sfmcguire79 "A Berkeley history professor said he’s gone from assigning 100 pages of reading per week to 35." Berkeley stopped requiring SATs so they could continue discriminating on the basis of race surreptitiously. Is this a consequence?
@theepicmap "The most "boring" drive between two American cities." Epic, for people interested in railroads, the Union Pacific North Platte classification yard on your north route is the largest in the world, and they have a wonderful observation tower.
@Rep_Whitesides@sciencedems "daytime solar is the cheapest source of electricity" Rep. Whiteside, I use electricity at night. How much does nighttime solar cost? Note that solar California has the most expensive electricity in the lower 48, and coal-fired North Dakota has the cheapest.
@wil_da_beast630 Thanks, Daniel, for this chart. We are constantly told that immigrants have lower crime rates than natives. But Mexican incarceration is higher than Native White. And there is severe selection bias in the statistics. In two cases close to me, the Mexican criminals just went home.
@NextVariants@SenTuberville@SecRollins 2Big2, Yes. Grok thinks stumpage is cheaper in the SE US than BC. It does appear that we can produce wood cheaper than the Canadians can. And the VZ heavy oil is potentially cheaper than Alberta heavy for our refineries. It is not clear the "elbows up" strategy is a great idea.
@PeterSweden7 "The latest poll from Sweden show that foreign born people support the Socialists and former Communist party" Yes, Peter, this is how you get communist mayors in New York and Los Angeles. 37% foreign born. All results from immigration policy.
@TxLegendGaming "your experience voting in CA?" Texas, the in-person voting experience in CA is fabulous. The machine prints your filled-out ballot there, you can check it, and then submit it. To me it only lacks an ID. In an ideal world, it would demonstrate citizenship, like a passport card.
@SomeOtherSara@TwLarsen@dcopechatter "If it's Pratt voters, it probably cuz they are STUPID enough to believe the X garbage" Sarah, in California, the elections bureau has our signature, political party registration, and our address.
@TxLegendGaming@TwLarsen@dcopechatter "Where would that paper form come from when registering online?" Texas, I am out of my depth here. I registered 50 years ago. Grok thinks that for an online registration they get the signature from the DMV.
@TwLarsen@dcopechatter "Statistically they should be about equal, depending on demographics, agree..??" TW, I do not know. I do vote in person because I have been suspicious of the voting process in CA for a long time. I do use a different signature in voting from the registration. Not challenged (yet)
@TwLarsen@dcopechatter "Without voter ID, what can they possibly base a signature comparison on..??" TW, in California, the reference signature comes from the paper voter registration form or the Department of Motor Vehicles (Grok).
@Guchie1@brianeskow "free speech on x? What does that have to do with Trump or government?" Guchie, you must be new on X. Plenty of evidence that the Biden Administration pressured social media to suppress Covid lab release theories. And, like many people, my income taxes were lower this year.
@Guchie1@brianeskow Yes, limited government. Reduced income taxes for most of us. Free speech here on X that we did not have before. Thousands of regulations rescinded.
@JTAlexander "This is *the* problem with the film Kingdom of Heaven. it’s a film made deliberately to convince White people that they “started it” after 9/11." Mitigating factor. Kingdom of Heaven introduced many of us to Eva Green.
@craigwarmke "Dishonest, of course. A substantial portion of faculty openly admit that they would discriminate against conservatives" Craig, Yes. At a Williams College reunion assembly, I asked the President why she did not hire any Republican faculty. The answer, "They are not interested."
@Guchie1@brianeskow "weird fringe republicans of 2010s" That would be the Tea Party principles (Foley): limited government, unapologetic US sovereignty, and constitutional originalism. Not fringe any more. Better get used to them.
@harmlesstree2@fiago7 ''You wouldn't be saying that if you were from one of the countries that was on the receiving end of the bombs and cruise missiles dropped and fired from B-52s" The message is FAFO. Don't mess with us.
@FamedCelebrity "UPS drivers 30s to 40s always happy or pleasant" Yes, UPS drivers are special. Ours recognized our truck several times in the grocery parking lot and gave us our package there. My wife does feed him cookies.
