Tesla will not sell any cars with steering wheels within 5 years.
Cybercab is already in production with no wheel or pedals. Unsupervised robotaxi is live and expanding. Customer unsupervised FSD is targeted for Q2 2027. They’re winding down Cybertruck production to free up Giga Texas capacity for more Cybercabs.
The product is shifting from “car you drive” to “robot that moves you.” By 2031, every new Tesla that rolls off the line is designed as an autonomous vehicle first.
The steering wheel era at Tesla is ending.
