@Not_A_FT Hi. There were a number of reasons for the change. I was mainly attracted to the purpose of MPS and the chance to work with some great people here that I'd gotten to know. There aren't lots of people who have worked at both but I have a few colleagues who also worked at the GMC.
@montie Personally I disagree. The main point I got from this interview - and from much else Matt does - is that politics is really important and that is why itโs important to make it accessible.

Both Labour and the Conservative manifestos touch on regulation of NHS managers. Labour pledge to 'regulate NHS managers, ensuring those who commit serious misconduct can never do so again', and the Conservatives to 'consult on a disbarring regime for NHS managers'

Calling all international medical graduates (IMGs) to participate in @MPS_Medical new survey ๐ข
Two years ago, we worked closely with @MPS_Medical and other organisations to develop a framework for effective IMG inductions. We'd encourage IMGs to complete this as the findings will help improve everyone's understanding of the impact that this framework is having and any areas for improvement.
We also run free workshops to support doctors new to the UK - Welcome to UK Practice. Adapting to UK practice can be difficult for any doctor, regardless of where you're from or how experienced you are.
Our workshops provide practical advice, information about the professional standards for doctors and we explore different ethical scenarios that you might come across. For more information on our workshops, visit our website - https://t.co/7iMe5PqswY
@GDC_UK There is still a lot more to be done, and the feedback from members about the impact an investigation has on their wellbeing is stark. But this is progress worth highlighting. See more in this article from @WrightDentist๐
Positive changes have been made by @GDC_UK since our report 12 months ago

One year since we launched our campaign, Dr George Wright reflects on the progress made to reduce the impact of @GDC_UK investigations on mental health in @theprobemag . Read about the several positive developments here: https://t.co/zOMaAi4JG9

Huge thanks to @MPS_Medical who were instrumental in getting #WelcomingAndValuingIMGs launched. ๐๐ฝ
Please do share this short survey widely. We're really keen @gmcuk that these standards to support IMGs are adopted everywhere. ๐๐ฝ
We are trying to develop an evidence basis on IMG doctors' experience of induction in the NHS. This will help us to push for improvements in the areas where they are most needed. We want as many IMGs to share their experiences as possible. Please retweet and share far and wide!
