Thanks Michael Giacchino for spending 283 minutes with me in 2022. I couldn’t stop listening to Star Trek Main Theme. #SpotifyWrapped https://t.co/XnT1PXnYaZ
Leadership is not a position or a title,
it is action and example.
Be a great leader in all you do.
- lead by example
- keep standards high
- be timely
- action as needed
- industry current
- looking at future
- have integrity
- team betterment
- available
The kindness and generosity of these men and women will never be forgotten… They’ve been at our home all morning working to clean up downed trees and tornado damage. Not asking for anything. Doing very hard work. They just showed up wanting to help.
LIVE BY THESE RULES:
If you mess up: own it
If you make a mistake: apologize
If you fail: try again
If you don’t know: admit it
If you care about someone: tell them

Never discourage anyone who
- shows up and on time
- gives their best honest effort
- communicates
- believes in teamwork
- shares constructive, interesting ideas
- wants to learn
- has a positive attitude
- jumps in to help when needed
- smiles and laughs
- listens
If you want to communicate trust & value in your people, 2 actions matter most:
1. Empower them to make decisions & follow through w/ the vision. Step back & relinquish control.
2. Celebrate mistakes as learning opportunities. Fear of failure = paralysis.

We need different types of leadership for different people, at different times and situations. Here are just a few common helpful characteristics of effective leaders, but for me the missing one is - ‘demonstrates genuine care and compassion for others in their team’. #leadership
