My meeting with Dr. Stover went really well today. I did not realize I had some format issues on my resume so I was able to fix those. I feel even more confident for the final grant.

As I am applying to jobs now, being able to see an example of a resume helped me narrow down what I should be including on my own. The tips were helpful and gave me ideas on how to better my resume.

For my grant proposal, I am going to make an interactive map of the planet Tattooine in Star Wars. The map is going to show events from the series The Book of Boba Fett. Users will be able to see each important land mark and click on it to get further information.

I was really impressed by "Civil War Twin". The website was very easy to navigate and provided information that was simple to understand. One thing I wish it included was adding hot bars at the top of the page to navigate to other sections.

Gorsevski's article was a big help in showing me what to focus on for the grant project. There are many outside factors like budget and narrative to take into consideration when proposing a grant that I had no idea of before this reading.

@kaylindins I agree this reading was very helpful! Copyright definitely needs to be taught more, especially to younger people. It can be so easy to unknowingly use a copyrighted song without knowing the repercussions.

@Kobe_Smith2022 I liked your blog a lot! You did a really good job at explaining the project and your frustrations with coding and using Oxygen. I was also a little nervous when I heard we had to code, but like you said, it helped to get out of our comfort zone.

Matthew Wranovix's mapping of New Haven University was a fun project to read. Being able to scroll through the timeline of every major event at the University and seeing the map change with it helped give me ideas for the grant project.

@RMS_NOVA I agree! It was interesting to see how the oldest forms of markup were originally used. I think as our technology advances, digital mark up will have to evolve as well.

In Vee's article, It was cool to see back in 1961 Alan Perlis advocating for undergrad students to be tought programming in their first year. With technology advancing, programming will become more and more important.

I found Hepworth's article very interesting. The twitter AI Microsoft made stuck out to me as the AI was learning from other people on the site and was shut down for racist remarks. Will an ethical approach to data visualizations really help though to minimize harm, though?

@JakeVerry I think DH is something that needs to be taught younger and at a larger scale. It has already been shown that DH projects can help highlight issues we face so if it was given more attention we could be better equipped to deal with these issues.

I found this article from Pernice to be very interesting. It is cool to see how strong eye tracking software has become and can highlight the important parts of an article, quickening up our time online. I think this technology will be super helpful for people with disabilities.

Heppler's website is a great guide for someone to learn from when trying to understand more about the Digital Humanities. Being able to see the various definitions and how different people interpret it show how vast the field is and how much it encompasses. #cnuengl350
