"For Beginners, What Makes a Good DH Project?" has been a very helpful article for me as I try to brainstorm some relevant ideas. It's more difficult than I'd thought to come up with a meaningful idea for a DH project!

Like the coding aspect, the reading/ identification part of TEI project was pretty straightforward. Thankfully I didn't have any of the more complex notes to make on my excerpt, so it was pretty much all quotes and new paragraphs to note, plus one spelling correction 👍

The TEI project in XML was a bit of a welcomed surprise for this course. I initially started in Comp Sci here at CNU, and it was kinda fun to get back into coding, even if it was just a few lines of XML. It was a fun way to look a little more closely at the reading as well!

Unfortunately I can't really comment on the peer review portion of this week's tweets, as as was half-implied by my last tweet, I still haven't completed the draft. Looking forward to finishing that and several other papers up this weekend!

I like Lamott's thinking in creating multiple drafts, and that would definitely be a good call if you have the time and the drive to do so, though a lot of the time I don't manage to do more than one draft of an essay thanks to my propensity to procrastinate.

Not entirely sure what to make of the Hemmingway app. I don't use any sort of grammar checkers or the like, so I can't compare it to anything really. I did copy my final essay from PHIL 321 into it and was told it sucked, which was mildly amusing to be fair.

Furthermore on "A DH That Matters", its interesting to hear that there are DH projects that go towards things like storm mapping, and DH isn't strictly for social issues. #cnuengl350

Though I'm a couple years late on reading this article, "A DH That Matters" provides a good look back in time, and opened up some new concepts to me. For instance, I was unaware that there were such things as DH centers in the US, or anywhere for that matter. #cnuengl350

@SamraJubran Just finished up reading your blog, cool to see another PC enthusiast in the class! I feel you on the ADHD as well, I was diagnosed back in 2008, definitely made things a tad more difficult at first, but I definitely mirror the sentiment of not minding it.

Even after reading Ullyot's article again, I'm still a bit confused as to what DH truly is. It seems as though the definition is quite open-ended, and I suppose I'll have a better understanding as we get further into the semester.

Pernice's article on Eyetracking was quite interesting, but not all too shocking. Though most people don't want to read huge articles, I hope that articles don't start straying more towards being short with a few pictures.
