Yeah, I've waited 8 episodes for satisfying character development. This final scene made me drop my jaw not because it looked great, but because it *felt* great seeing John finally becoming Green Lantern after everything he's been through. *Character over spectacle*
Listen man... Mamdani didn't campaign on Palestine, like, at all. All he did was respond calmly and rationally when his Zionist freak opponents obsessed over Israel. He always pivoted to basic bread and butter affordability. Every single time. And now he's a mayor who has to represent every single ethnic group in New York City, which happens to be every single ethnic group in the world because that's how NYC is. If you supported him BECAUSE of his stance on Palestine and you're upset about this, that's fully on you. You weren't betrayed, you were just stupid.
If Mamdani starts to take money from the Israeli lobby, sits down with the Israeli lobby, or does anything that is tangebly zionist, then I will be protesting him too.
But at this point, going to a vigil and then eating at a Palestinian restaurant afterward with Palestinian families is not something I will be using my platform to protest. Frankly, there are WAY bigger fish to fry.
Mayor Mamdani was asked about how he feels about being called a “traitor” by hard-left pro-Palestine protesters last night.
Mamdani says he was “proud” to attend a vigil for Oct. 7 victims and again condemns the war in Gaza as a “genocide.”
Zohran Mamdani: “I believe there must be room to mourn every single life. There must be room to mourn the lives of the more than 1,100 Israelis that Hamas killed three years ago. There must be room to mourn the 74K Palestinians the Israeli government had killed since. What I so appreciated about being at the vigil yesterday evening, as I had been the year before, is that it was a vigil that brought together New Yorkers to read testimonies of their own family members, of others who’ve been killed either on the day or in the genocide since and ends with a shared vision for peace and for an end to the genocide”
