HIIII! Been a while hasn’t it. I promise I’ll be back in the weather space soon.
But I wanted to share something I made on my own time that I’m really proud of :D
🧵 A significant severe weather event appears likely in parts of the Mid South on Monday. Large hail and damaging winds are both main threats as a line of storms move south in the morning hours, then storms fire in the afternoon and grow into another line (MCS) that pushes southeast into the overnight. A few tornadoes are possible as well. Here's the rundown.
Well guys, I have officially graduated high school with honors, a scholar designation, a 4.288 GPA, and an Associate’s Degree from Polk State College. I normally wouldn’t talk about my achievements, but after all these years, I think I’ve earned the right to brag a little. (1/8)

The classic four-quadrant model for jet streaks runs into issues when the jet streak becomes curved, introducing centripetal accelerations. Here's how the conceptual model updates with the introduction of curvature:

Good morning, and happy Tuesday!
Our second day of hot weather continues for the Northeast as temperatures soar into the mid 90s, especially areas south of I-80. Coastal areas will once again be escaping the worst of the heat as a seabreeze will be mediating temperatures.
Still watching the potential of some scattered showers and thunderstorms for the area tomorrow for areas mainly south of New York City. Current data suggests the best dynamics will be over Southeastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, and portions of Northern Delaware and Northern Virginia, where the possibility exists for an isolated severe storm or two. More details will be on the way later tonight.
Have a great Tuesday everyone!

Something that is catching my eye today is that the synoptics feel misplaced. With a curved jet, lift is found over the entire exit with suppression on the backside. Notice the zone of lift is given a glancing blow to our supercells across NE Kansas and SE Nebraska.
The overall pattern is sliding along the edge of the risk area rather than arcing into the warm sector. Feels like a partial failure mode today playing out. Still, a robust environment remains regardless, and we are still far from being over today. The day is still young.
We will be LIVE at around 2:30 PM CDT to cover today's potential severe weather/tornado outbreak across parts of the Central Plains.
