People arriving by small boats have decreased by over 40%, and the number of asylum seekers being housed in hotels has fallen by 50%.
That’s why Reform are now targeting disabled people and single mothers.
Imagine if Kamala Harris became the first female president of the United States and then tore down the East wing, obsessed about a ballroom, started a losing war with Iran, took away health care and food from children, raked in billions, fired everyone to put her friends in their positions, fell asleep on camera consistently, mouthed off on social media, openly prosecuted people she didn’t like without real cause, started a slush fund to fund domestic terrorists, and generally lied every second of the day. She wasn’t even allowed to laugh.
Since water services were sold off by Thatcher to be run for private profit, the water companies have:
- amassed debts of over £50bn
- paid £78bn to shareholders
- raised CEO pay to £1-3 million a year
- lose 2.87bn litres of water a day through leaky pipes
- polluted EVERY river
Strangely, this story doesn't mention the 1,077 small boat arrivals in Liz Truss's first week as PM, or the 1,800 in Rishi Sunak's. It also says that there were only 35 arrivals in Boris Johnson's first week as PM in 2019, but omits to mention the 2,532 in his final week in 2022.
1/ JOINT STATEMENT FROM MUFC FAN GROUPS
Many attempts have been made in recent years to bring together influential supporter groups that can prioritise the often underrepresented voice of Manchester United’s match going supporters.
🔥 Bloody hell. This isn’t a leader column, it is a P45 for Nigel Farage.
Nigel Farage is now described as a “vehicle for chaos” whose behaviour is damaging Reform and whose standing “will continue to falter”.
And the killer passage: Farage claims to be an insurgent asking voters to believe he’ll sweep away a self-serving political class, but cannot credibly make that case while treating disclosure rules and scrutiny as an intolerable intrusion.
The media spent years coveting Farage. Now the worm has turned. 🎥
The irony of Trump calling FIFA to overturn
a red card for Balogun because he knows the U.S. can’t win without Balogun, who only qualifies for the U.S. team because of birthright citizenship, which Trump just tried to overturn.
Labour migration record is creditable:
net down 48%
asylum apps down 12%
deportations up 7%
boat arrivals down 37%
Mahmood's bill infuriates Left MPs, hence new safe/legal routes. But it's a good approach. Restore confidence in asylum so we can welcome those in true need.
The UK has collectively decided to kick its universities to death. No matter how important they are to the economy, to education, to culture, and to soft power, nobody is coming to save them.
Once he gets into the Downing Street flat, Andy Burnham will aim to amplify his working class persona by installing a flatscreen TV, a Sky dish, a transparent kettle that goes all blue, and one of these TV stands
Come, now. Starmer has not been a good or effective PM but he’s a decent public servant who took Labour from electoral & moral depths, as one of only two leaders born in the last 100 years to win an election. And he took the right side in Ukraine’s just war of self-defence.
Reagan is rolling over in his grave. Iran’s nuclear ambitions were not curbed, and they have learned that threatening the Strait of Hormuz works and will undoubtedly leverage it in the future. Now, Iran gets to build brand-new infrastructure under this deal.
Before the war, the strait was open, Iran was being crushed by sanctions, and 13 service members were still alive. Now, 13 Americans are dead, families have paid billions at the pump, sanctions will be lifted, and the bombing has stopped. This is the worst foreign policy blunder in decades.
