For the month of October, I'm on track to make 300$ worth in email designs.
I started email design barely two months ago. I had no experience in email design or even design!
Somehow, I still managed to make a few sales and get my first client. All from inbounds.
So how did I do this? Here's what I'd recommend to anyone starting in email design:
1. Take emails that you like and copy them on Figma. This will allow you to get a hang of what emails look like and how Figma works.
2. If you want to speed up the process, get a mentor. I'd suggest @britishmasry
3. Post your designs, no matter how bad you think they are! Document your journey. Perfect your skills. There is something so satisfactory about documenting your progress.
4. Ask for feedback from people with experience in email design. Don't be shy, the email design community is very friendly!
5. Stay consistent. Post about what you are struggling with in email, what you learnt, etc. but please stay active on Twitter, the possibilities are endless.
At first, you may not see results but I like to think that success occurs when opportunity meets preparation.
So stay persistent, you got this.
