Labour is considering, making disabled people apply for any item they need, instead of cash !!

“but you seemed fine before you got diagnosed. why does everything suddenly seem harder now?”
because the diagnosis didn’t create the problems. it gave me names for problems i had already been living with. before i understood myself, i spent years compensating, masking, forcing myself through things and assuming everyone else simply handled life better than i did. once you finally have an explanation, you start noticing patterns you used to blame yourself for. you understand what drains you, what overwhelms you, what helps and why certain things have always required twice the effort. from the outside, it can look like the diagnosis changed you. sometimes it simply changed your ability to understand yourself.
All this moaning about PIP as if disabled people are rolling in cash. Price a specialist wheelchair, seating, pressure cushion, splints, boots, adaptations & transport. Many families fundraise or rely on charities for essentials. That’s the “high life” you’re sneering at.

@Autistic_Lauren Noise cancelling changed my life. Enabled much less sensory issues.
I use a bose pair, I repaired few time's for outdoors, more convenient.
Indoors have a pair of Sony I bought to replace the bose, unfortunately the sonys are awful outside and lack speech clarity.
@bmj_latest Kind of ironic isn't it.
The AI is fine to write poor diagnosis, summarys & record's for patients, but when we use the same thing, to complain about that, it's no longer acceptable.
So much gaslighting.
If it's so bad, remove AI from both, has its place, these are not it.
Hospitals and general practices across the country are asking patients to “describe their experience in their own words” amid a rise in overly complex AI written complaints

'To the person who says it's a snowflake generation, just live just 24 hours as a 16 year old'
Professor Peter Fonagy, the head of an independent review into mental health, ADHD and autism, has told Catherine Burns on #BBCBreakfast that there has been a real rise in mental distress among children and young people, with anxiety, depression, self-harm and eating disorders

This woman will be one of the reasons that the @Conservatives don't see power again for a long time.
@Helen_Whately has a hyper fixation on benefits. Its usually disability benefits, #lying through her teeth and misrepresenting facts. Using one offs & extreme, usually justified, cases to create fabrications
Instead of suggesting solutions, she pushes #hate & #blame
Now she's going after #kids. She talks a lot about #morals but I don't see the morality in going after the disabled & children using a carefully manufactured narrative to push an agenda

Here's some benefits claimants we need to crackdown on.
£17.5bn Shell/BP
£2bn Amazon
£500m Glaxosmithkline
£700m Tesco/Sainsbury's/Asda
Nobody ever says these ridiculous benefits to billionaires are unaffordable, because they never even mention them.
Lets cut THEIR benefits.
History has shown the consequences of portraying disabled people as burdens. Some of the darkest regimes in history justified discrimination, exclusion, starvation, forced sterilisation & even killing by first convincing society that disabled people were worth less than everyone else.
The moment politicians and media outlets began treating disabled people as a problem to be managed rather than people to be protected, they started on the path to repeating the same dehumanising logic that has underpinned some of history's most shameful injustices.

We have known for a very, very long time that patients with severe and enduring mental health problems struggle to access healthcare. This situation is not new (although I wouldn’t be surprised if it has worsened significantly, given the damage that politicians have caused to the NHS). This information👇 is staggering and terrible, and action needs to be taken.

@timboxall Make deep Uh, retching, word bark, giraffe "just terrifying ", long errrrs, assorted beeps.
Physical ticks mostly head, neck, hands, often in time with verbal.
Any spontaneous karaoke funny, best as oddly don't tick when singing.
Ticks increase with people I'm comfortable with.
@benn_elisbenn They would go out of buisness if we were not able to volunteer, act as carers, advisor's and work part time or for less.
Reckon disabled people are far more present & dependened upon in society, than is realised.
Fear perception & opinion are not fact's.
You fail to understand the spending power that Disabled People have on the economy. PIP is not a work related benefit. By providing some help to a small % of Disabled People with their extra disability related expenses it allows many to partake in employment & education. 1/2
This applies to any chronic illness.
You can do everything “right” and still have a setback.
You can “try harder” and still decline.
You can do all the wellness cures, doctor’s appointments and hoop jumping and still suffer.
That’s the reality of being disabled.
Your occasional reminder that there are already 6300 Neighbourhood Health Centres across the country in walking distance of 85% of the population.
(If you add Pharmacies that’s more than double that)
250 centres costing £m’s rather than investing in what’s there already 🤦🏻♂️
“If you have someone in your life who struggles with an #invisibleillness just remember they probably do their best to look or act ‘normal’… Even simple things can set us back for the rest of the day… or sometimes even for weeks.” https://t.co/WK468C3vz1 #PainAwarenessMonth
@APainPrincess Have several disabilities, hidden & not.
When I started to wear a invisible disability lanyard, I got better treatment from many people.
Strange to have to wear something, to be seen, instead of just seen struggling.
I think people see what they want, regardless of looks.
“When asked my pain level on a 1 to 10 scale I ask, “My scale or yours?” On my scale I can be a 4 today but on a doctor’s…it’s probably closer to an 8… My body’s in pain all the time—I have to endure it and it changes my perceptions.” https://t.co/MGu5TUI0PC #PainAwarenessMonth
“My body will take over refusing… how ever careful I’ve been. If you wonder why people in #ChronicPain don’t manage more in our apparently endless supply of free time—it’s not free time. As soon as we demand too much…there’s a bill.” https://t.co/m5KIipjTTv #PainAwarenessMonth
