I support Halifax Public Library Workers. Libraries have a vital role in our communities.Far more than books,they provide essential services,often for the most excluded.We spend more on police than all our recreational services combined. Pay library workers what they’re worth!

No one is telling for profit centre's to close - just not expand. They say they are not making any money, so why not take on the non-profit model. Is it about supporting families and children, especially woman? I wonder.

@BigJMcC There are many publicly owned buildings that could be used outside of schools, as well.
Health care centres, government offices etc should have this as a potential use before construction even begins. Take the profit out of childcare in every sense.
